Designed for ages 8 and up, this five-day clay camp dives into ocean-inspired artmaking. Campers explore handbuilding as they form pinch-pot sea creatures, build textured underwater scenes with coils, and create unique deep sea sculptures driven by imagination. Instructors offer step-by-step guidance throughout the week so young artists can bring everything from lively marine animals to mysterious seafloor worlds to life. Expect a friendly studio setting where rolling up sleeves and getting a little messy is part of the fun. Each student selects a studio glaze to finish their pieces, and finished, fired work will be ready for pickup within a month after the final class. The camp includes five instructional sessions of three hours each, all clay and project materials, and a daily snack. If a child needs extra support due to behavioral or other concerns, one adult may accompany them, though the accompanying adult will not create their own work. If it becomes clear a child requires one-on-one attention, an adult’s attendance may be required for added support. Participants must be at least 8 years old. Ages are verified on the first day of class, and anyone outside the age range will not be able to continue. Refunds, credits, or rescheduling are not available in such cases.

Instruction also covers cutting bezels, adding texture, using a jeweler’s saw correctly, and practical tips to streamline your work. The kit fee is $45 and includes a 2 inch by 2 inch 18 gauge copper sheet for a back plate, two 1 inch by 6 inch 20 gauge copper strips for the cuff, a quarter inch by quarter inch copper tube for a stand, a 1/8 inch by 6 inch 22 gauge copper strip for the bezel, and consumables such as solder, flux, and pickle. All required tools and soldering stations are provided by the instructor. Students should bring one cabochon, with additional stones available for purchase during class. A creative workshop for songwriters of any experience level focuses on building a standout hook and shaping a clear song structure with verses, choruses, and a bridge. Participants can share works in progress and come away with practical approaches to make their songs feel personal and unique. The class is open to ages 13 and older, and youth attendees may be dropped off without a parent staying on site. Led by songwriter and educator Paige O’Neill of Douglasville, Georgia, the session emphasizes hooks, rhythm, format, and the craft of giving each song its own voice. Paige works comfortably with complete beginners as well as more experienced writers. Her original music spans Americana, pop, country, gospel, and folk, with two albums released, O’Riginals I and II, and a third in progress. Her teaching background includes workshops at festivals such as the 2025 Cohutta Music Festival, along with a long career coaching tennis and later guiding dog owners in training, experience she brings to helping students tell their stories through music. The cost is $45 per person. CAS members are eligible for a discount. A minimum of five participants is required for the workshop to run.
