Moth Party - City Nature Challenge

Memphis River Parks hosts a Moth Party and BioBlitz at River Garden in celebration of the City Nature Challenge, a worldwide effort to document local wildlife and support biodiversity. Participants will use the iNaturalist app to record what they find, and no prior experience is required. River Garden naturalist and native landscaper Harry Babb (@habitatharryms) will guide the outing, answer questions, and share insights about native plants, pollinators, and the often overlooked life nearby. The evening begins with iNaturalist training and the start of the BioBlitz, includes a break for snacks and refreshments, then shifts to the Moth Party before wrapping up. Moth bands are provided, and guests may bring their own wings and dress the part. A moth party offers a playful way to attract nocturnal pollinators, observe them, and contribute those sightings to the bioblitz. Friends and families are welcome for an inviting mix of exploration, community, and practical citizen science.
