Kids Beginning Sew and Stitch with Miss Sarah
At Jump Into Art Studios, kids ages 7 to 18 can take part in a six week summer sewing and stitching program led by Miss Sarah. Participants learn both machine sewing and hand stitching, working on projects with a simple machine. The series begins with practice on an embroidery hoop to build skills like threading a needle and making a running stitch, along with a sewing machine practice sheet to get comfortable with the presser foot, turning corners, and overall control. After warm ups, students choose from two projects, such as a pencil roll or a drawstring bag, and progress at their own pace. Frequent visitor JoJo, the studio’s working feline, may stop by for inspections and pets, especially around textiles, fluff, and clinking pins. All supplies are included. Classes take place on the second floor. There is no elevator, and teacher assistance is available for anyone who has difficulty with stairs.

Club members, friends, and fans of running and walking gather here throughout the year for a relaxed, social meetup. For safety, the group does not meet in lightning, torrential rain, or icy conditions, and it also cancels if the temperature or heat index is 95F or higher, or if any other unsafe conditions are present.
