Jump Into Art Studios presents a kids art class with Lisa Jane Long that invites young creators to explore new techniques in a playful, creative setting. Children can build skills, make fun memories, and enjoy an energetic hour focused on art. Space is limited.

The Allen Civic Ballet is holding auditions for its upcoming production of The Nutcracker, a professional presentation with costumes and scenery, guest artists, and a live orchestra to be staged at the Performing Arts Center at Allen High School. Auditions take place at The Allen Conservatory of Dance and welcome dancers ages 5 and older for a range of roles, with separate sessions for ages 5 to 8 and for ages 9 and up. Female dancers are asked to wear a solid-colored leotard with tights and ballet slippers, and male dancers should come in athletic shorts or ballet leggings with a white T-shirt and dance shoes. Results will be shared by email, and applicants are asked not to call or email The Allen Civic Ballet or The Allen Conservatory of Dance about placement. Students should plan for Saturday rehearsals and be available for both performance dates. An updated audition packet will be posted as the auditions approach.

Live Radio DFW pulls from six decades of favorites, GenXiles focuses on rock from the 80s through the 2000s, and Good N Gone brings Texas country. Southern Couch Band shares timeless tunes from the 60s to the 90s, Chasing Angels puts a fresh spin on classic pop and rock from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, The Day Job Refugees blend originals with classic rock, folk, and a touch of country, and Love Handle rounds things out with a four-piece rock set.

Move to the beats as DJ Art brings a high-energy soundtrack to District 121. This free, family-friendly dance party features crowd-pleasing music, upbeat vibes, and plenty of room to groove with friends and family. It is a community gathering held on the second and fourth Saturdays.

A glow themed back to school party presented by Concerts by the Creek will be held at Watters Creek. This celebration welcomes the new school year with a bright theme centered on glow fun. Additional details will be shared as the event approaches.

Kick off the school season with a high-energy Back to School Week at Ninja Camp 2026. Designed for ages 5 to 12, this session blends obstacle course challenges, warmups, skill stations, and open-gym time with arts and crafts that match the week’s theme. No prior ninja experience is required, and coaches group campers by age for targeted skill building and games. Each day includes lunch and a snack, and families may send a sack lunch instead. Flexible attendance options let families choose single-day participation or bundle multiple days up to a full week. Pricing is $85 for one day, $160 for two days, $240 for three days, $300 for four days, or $375 for five days, which also includes a camp kit with a T-shirt, headband, and large chalk. Capacity is limited to a maximum of 40 campers per age group with a minimum of 3. Registrations are non-refundable, though booked days can be rescheduled at no charge if space is available. Campers should arrive ready to move in clean athletic shoes, bring a water bottle, and have the required Ninja Nation participation waiver and health intake form completed before camp begins. For safety, pickup requires a valid government ID and the person picking up must be listed as an authorized adult.

Kids ages 7 to 18 can explore both machine sewing and hand stitching in a six-week series with Miss Sarah. The first sessions focus on basics, beginning with stitching on an embroidery hoop to practice threading a needle and the running stitch, then moving to a sewing machine practice sheet to learn how to use the presser foot, turn corners, and build overall comfort at the machine. After these foundations, students choose from two starter projects such as a pencil roll or a drawstring bag, and everyone works at an individual pace. All supplies are included. The studio’s feline, JoJo, may visit for inspections and pets. Classes are held on the second floor, there is no elevator, and teacher assistance is available for anyone who has trouble with stairs.

Stroller Strides at District 121 is an upbeat outdoor workout created for parents and caregivers with little ones. This full body class combines cardio, strength work, and movement, and it is a chance to connect with other families with young children. It is a free community event at District 121, and participants should bring a stroller and a water bottle. Sessions are held on Thursdays.
