The tour is for $20 per person and takes place from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday evenings in spring and summer. It is a great way to spend a relaxed hour at the sanctuary after dark.

Back in action to honor The Brownsville Raid, also known as the Brownsville Affair of 1906, this alley cat style race sends participants across town to visit historic sites, collect an artifact as evidence, and return to Texas Branding Iron Burgers Bikes & Beer for a shot at the podium and a finisher's medal. Race solo or pair up as a team of two. Choose the quickest path on road, gravel, or trail, plan your route between locations, and bring back what you have gathered to compete. The commemoration recalls the 1906 incident in Brownsville, when African American soldiers of the 25th Infantry Regiment were falsely accused, marking one of the largest injustices in U.S. military history. Explore the foundations of reflexology in an introductory class designed for anyone interested in working with healing energy. Learn how to offer a caring, healing touch and also receive restorative energy. Topics include a clear definition of reflexology, key reflex points that support healing, and relaxation techniques. Instruction is led by a retired Registered Nurse with 43 years of experience, a graduate of the Ulan Nutritional Systems training program in Clearwater, Florida specializing in Nutrition Response Testing, and a Certified Reflexologist who completed a 200 hour course at the International Institute of Reflexology in St. Petersburg, Florida in 2013. Using non invasive muscle testing based in Kinesiology, the instructor focuses on identifying root causes of health concerns and combines Nutrition Response Testing with reflexology to offer holistic options for wellness. A long standing emphasis on nutritional supplementation, influenced by concerns about soil nutrient depletion and environmental contamination, informs this approach. Tuition is $49.
