The Bryan MuseumThe Gathering of The Witches Market - Call To Vendors
A quarterly market on Galveston Island celebrates craft, lore, and frequency with a Summer Solstice theme. The organizers are seeking nine carefully selected artisans and mystics for an intimate experience that connects time-honored craftsmanship with contemporary healing arts and sets the foundation for a new seasonal tradition on the Island. At the center of the event, Herb & Smudge × Transcend anchors the gathering with herbal traditions and vibrational practices, featuring a botanical apothecary offering hand blended ritual herb mixes, oils, and smoke cleansing bundles, a metaphysical collection of pendulums and classic divination tools, and an indoor sanctuary dedicated to frequency-based meditation and restorative energy work. Vendor roles span intuitive readers with three spots for tarot, astrology, palmistry, and energy work, makers of witchy wearables such as cloaks, traditional pointed hats, patchwork garments, and artisan metalwork with celestial or dark motifs, a baker focused on seasonal breads and botanical pastries, an artist creating dark botanical artwork, gothic prints, and hand bound journals, an antiquarian curating vintage curiosities, old-world brass, and natural oddities, and hearth makers with two openings for ceramics, textiles, wood, or wax pieces designed for home and altar. Capacity is limited to nine vendors, each vendor receives a 10 by 10 space, and participants provide their own setup including one table with an optional tent or umbrella. The fee is $65. To apply, email herbandsmudge@gmail.com with a business name, a brief description of the craft, and three to five photos of work or a booth setup, and use the subject line GOTW-Vendor.
Book Signing - “Colocho, A Sheep in the Wind” by Curtis Koch
A book signing spotlights Colocho, A Sheep in the Wind by Curtis Koch, a companion to the earlier beachside Colocho tale. The story begins after a storm has taken nearly everything, shifting the test of faith from tidy answers to simple presence. Colocho, a once-wandering sheep shaped by past grace, navigates a tougher coast where hurt lingers even when the skies clear. Walking his own path is Jude, a young man rebuilding after loss who learns to keep moving without all the explanations. Across wind-carved fields, quiet kindnesses, and questions that do not quickly resolve, they discover that real endurance grows by staying close to the Shepherd. This contemporary coastal narrative speaks to readers familiar with grief, long silences, and the steady choice to keep going.
