Fun Rides: Thursday Group Ride Roll

Set out from Lake Creek Park in downtown Round Rock for a welcoming group ride that lasts about 45 to 60 minutes. Riders can pick from two pacing options to match their comfort level and goals. The quicker option covers roughly 12 miles at 12 mph or higher on a longer route through downtown with greater traffic exposure, a solid choice for building endurance and speed. The easier option goes about 10 miles at 10 mph or higher, favoring paths with fewer cars and a conversational tempo that works well for base miles, recovery, or those newer to group rides. Nervous System Training for Mind Body Healing

A physician with more than twenty years of experience noticed a recurring pattern in patients who had genuine symptoms but no clear diagnosis. People dealing with issues such as chronic pain, anxiety, fatigue, and other unexplained concerns were often told everything looked normal, yet they still did not feel well. The insight that emerged is that the nervous system can become overly reactive and produce very real sensations. This live workshop explores that understanding and offers practical ways to shift it. Participants will learn why symptoms can linger, examine how the mind influences the body’s biology, and practice simple techniques that settle the system in real time. It is not a conventional medical treatment and it is not only about mindset. It presents a different path to healing through nervous system training and mind body work.

Tarps & Shelters Masterclass

At Williamson Preserve, this eight hour masterclass focuses on the art and utility of wilderness shelters. It is designed for backpackers seeking a lighter, more adaptable setup, car campers who want real living space when rain moves in, and anyone interested in building protection from the elements using natural materials. The emphasis is on shelter as both survival infrastructure and everyday comfort, showing how a well rigged tarp can turn a wet outing into a comfortable camp with more room, airflow, and flexibility than a typical tent. Through extended hands on practice, participants set up, test, refine, and rebuild until choosing the right knot and placement becomes second nature. Instruction covers critical rigging skills such as ridgelines, secure anchors, tensioning systems, and lashings that allow sturdy structures without hardware. Multiple tarp configurations are explored, including simple A frames, doors up lean tos, and fully enclosed storm ready layouts, with guidance on balancing airflow and protection, visibility and privacy, and speed and stability. Environment specific adaptations are addressed, including techniques for sand where standard stakes fail, snow where shelter adds insulation, and other conditions that shape decisions about anchors, drainage, and conserving heat. Natural shelter building receives in depth attention, from reading the land and selecting a site to working with debris, boughs, and bark to create an overnight worthy structure that keeps you warm and dry. Core site selection principles are woven throughout, including how to assess drainage, wind direction, overhead hazards such as widow makers, and terrain features that offer natural cover or windbreaks. This is an active outdoor intensive, so expect walking, crawling, bending, and sitting while practicing in real conditions. Participants may bring their own survival kit to test. There is no on site restroom, so plan to use the woods. Recommended preparations include a comfortable day pack with room for provided gear, lunch, water, and snacks, with water available for refills. Sunscreen and insect repellent are suggested, as well as a small camp seat or chair. Wear layers that manage body temperature and bring rain gear for changing weather. Tarps or other materials for experimentation are welcome, along with a notebook, pen, and pencil.

Crystalline Body Meditation with Esoteric Acupuncture

A three-hour immersive healing session with Dr. David Weinthal blends guided meditation and breathwork with full-body acupuncture on both the front and back of the body. The approach is Esoteric Acupuncture, inspired by the teachings of Dr. Mikio Sankey, and is intended to engage what Dr. David refers to as the crystalline body, a subtle light matrix within the physical form. Expect a calm, supportive setting with space for deep relaxation, integration, and stillness. No prior acupuncture experience is necessary, as the energetic framework is explained in clear, accessible language before treatments begin. All participants receive a gentle, precisely placed full-body treatment focused on energetic activation rather than symptom relief. Very fine needles are used and are typically experienced as subtle and relaxing, with common sensations that include warmth, tingling, spaciousness, or quiet stillness. As the acupuncture grids work in concert with meditation and breath practices, participants frequently report heightened awareness, emotional release, nervous system regulation, and a cohesive feeling within their energy field. Benefits often include reduced stress, improved circulation, a grounded sense of embodiment, and subtle activation that supports spiritual growth and the awakening of the body’s innate crystalline intelligence. Additional outcomes reported include deeper meditation, expanded heart awareness, increased energetic coherence, heightened intuitive sensitivity, and restful sleep following the session. Comfortable clothing is recommended, along with a water bottle and a journal for reflections. Bringing an open and curious mindset is encouraged, and extra blankets or pillows can add comfort. Capacity is limited and RSVP is requested.

Embracing the Crone with Angela and Andrea

A supportive workshop for women approaching, entering, or moving through the Crone years, whether through menopause, significant life change, or spiritual awakening. It reframes this stage not as decline, but as sovereignty, embodied wisdom, and a sense of freedom. Gentle Yin yoga, guided meditation, and open, heart-centered conversation invite participants to listen closely to a changing body, let go of shame-based stories, and recognize this chapter as a spiritual initiation into wholeness. Dr. Andrea Goebel will offer a Q&A informed by decades in women’s health and integrative care, with experience spanning menopause support, integrative nutrition, and end-of-life doula coaching. Each attendee receives a thoughtfully assembled packet of resources to continue reflection and self-care beyond the workshop. Attendance is limited to 15 participants. The fee is $95, with a 20 percent discount for members. Angela, an E-RYT 500, Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher, certified Sound Healing Practitioner, and Reiki Master and Teacher in the Usui, Tibetan, and Karuna Ki lineages, leads with gentle, accessible practices that support deep rest, nervous system balance, and inner transformation. She blends yoga, sound, and Reiki to create supportive and empowering experiences, offering a compassionate space for women navigating life’s transitions, including the menopause years. Her classes are welcoming and lighthearted for both longtime practitioners and newcomers, and she encourages approaching practice with a beginner’s mindset to support ongoing learning and growth.
