Round Rock Summer Arts Fest debuts as a major arts celebration centered in Downtown Round Rock, presented by the City of Round Rock Arts and Culture. It brings together visual art, music and dance performances, hands on creativity and community partners across the downtown core. The festival features 100 art vendor booths and 30 bands and dance performances. Enjoy a leisurely journey into railroading history aboard the Bertram Flyer. Traveling from Cedar Park into the Texas Hill Country, the train passes Short Creek Canyon and crosses the 300 foot South San Gabriel trestle, then returns to Cedar Park in restored vintage railcars from the 1930s through the 1950s pulled by a diesel locomotive. A cosplay theme sets the tone for this ride, encouraging passengers to arrive in costume with wigs and props, no matter the fandom. Beer, wine, and mimosas are available for purchase in the Cedar Park Car, adding a festive touch to the sights and sounds of classic rail travel. The trip spans 44 miles round trip and includes a 15 minute layover at the historic 1912 Bertram Depot. This experience is open to all ages. All sales are final.
