Goodwill and the RGV Vipers team up for the 3rd annual basketball skills camp and community donation drive at the DHR Health Sports & Wellness Center. The camp is free and welcomes middle and high school students, with participation made possible by bringing four full bags of gently used donations at check-in. Campers will focus on core fundamentals, ball handling, shooting, and defense, then wrap up by testing their progress in a scrimmage. The donation drive is open to the wider community. Contributing at least two full bags earns two tickets to an RGV Vipers game, while supplies last. Girl Scouts who bring ten large bags or boxes can earn the Mission Multipliers Patch. The person who contributes the most gently used items that day will receive four floor seats to a Vipers game. Every donation helps power Goodwill programs that offer free career training, education, digital skills, and employment services for people across South Texas.

A free training session focused on women’s self-defense is offered on Saturdays. Drawing from martial arts, it emphasizes practical techniques and personal protection skills for real-life situations.
