A free, hands-on family music program at Spring Creek Greenway Nature Center invites children and their adults to hear beloved songs in a fresh way and use them as prompts to notice the living world nearby. Adults are welcome to participate as well. Bring a picnic blanket or a portable camping chair for seating. Set at Madera Estates, the evening offers guest speakers, live entertainment, a silent auction, and opportunities to connect with community leaders and philanthropists. Texas is home to 1.4 million Veterans, with Harris and Montgomery Counties representing 20 percent of that community. Independent data indicates a 40.9 percent decrease in depressive states and a 99 percent approval rating across program facilitation. Alongside mental health support, participants gain practical life skills in ranch management and equine care through partnerships with Project Beacon and Inspiration Hope House, fostering resilience and a servant leadership mindset. Demand has surged from fewer than 50 Veterans in the 2023 to 2024 program year to a projected 1,000 participants in the 2026 to 2027 program year, and proceeds from the gala will help expand staffing and horse care to sustain and grow these vital services.
