OMNi - Regular game

OMNi’s regular pickup soccer at Community Fieldhouse blends high energy with a welcoming community vibe. The format adapts to turnout so everyone gets meaningful minutes and a smooth experience. With 24 players or fewer, play follows a full field, 11 v 11 style with rotating substitutions and balanced sides. If more than 24 attend, participants split into teams of 8 to 9, typically three to four squads, and rotate through short matches and mini games to keep the pace quick, touches frequent, and wait times low. Matches run until a team reaches three goals or a 15 minute cap. Clear guidelines keep play competitive and respectful. Everyone is expected to show respect, with no fighting, harassment, or aggressive conduct. Initiating a fight leads to removal from the session, a minimum two game suspension, and possibly a season long ban depending on severity. Slide tackles aimed at another player are not allowed. Sliding to block a pass or intercept is fine if it avoids dangerous contact, which can draw a yellow card or, if reckless, a red. Excessive body checking is prohibited. Shoulder to shoulder challenges while playing the ball are acceptable, but using the body without a play on the ball can result in a caution, or a red card if it denies a clear scoring chance. Tackles from behind are not allowed and may be punished by a yellow card, or a red card if they stop a breakaway or scoring opportunity. Substitutions occur only when play has stopped, and teams handle their own rotations. Card procedures are straightforward. A yellow card warns for unsafe or unsporting behavior. Two yellows equal a red, which removes the player and requires the team to continue short handed. A straight red means immediate dismissal and may be followed by further suspension after review. Team size guidelines support safe, competitive play. Standard pickup aims to keep enough players on each side. For coed sessions, the minimum is six total on the field with at least one female player participating at all times. Players of every experience level can expect a friendly yet competitive environment, organized rotations, and balanced teams. Sessions may run on indoor or outdoor turf depending on the session, with music and fitness adding to the soccer focused atmosphere. The emphasis is on staying active, building connections, competing together, and growing a strong soccer community, whether someone is a former player, in a current league, a weekend regular, or returning to the game.

The "ART" of Mindfulness- Watercolor Mandalas

Experience a calm, creativity-centered workshop that blends time-honored mindfulness with contemporary artmaking. It begins with easy breathing exercises, then participants slowly build a personal mandala, starting at the center and expanding outward with vivid watercolor pens. The steady, circular mark-making supports focus, softens mental chatter, and anchors attention in the present. No prior art experience is required, and the emphasis is on the process rather than perfection. Creating within a circle offers a structure that feels both secure and freeing, giving space to explore while gently guiding creative energy inward. The word mandala comes from Sanskrit and refers to a circle, a form long used across cultures for meditation and self-reflection. Studies indicate that making mandalas can ease anxiety, improve concentration, and foster a feeling of calm and centeredness. Symmetrical designs engage both hemispheres of the brain, and the repetitive rhythm can offer effects similar to traditional seated meditation, which is helpful for those who find stillness challenging. Participants leave with a unique watercolor mandala and a renewed sense of presence to carry into the day. Materials are supplied.

Tanner Sparks

An East Texas country sound rolls into Conroe as Tanner Sparks brings his traditional style to The Table at Madeley. Raised in rural East Texas and shaped by his grandfather’s records from Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and George Jones, he channels those roots into music that honors classic country. At 6'8", he commands the stage with a rich baritone and a timeless delivery, often compared to Travis Tritt, Tracy Lawrence, and Randy Travis. He describes his music as old fashioned country, grounded in the grit and soul of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. His catalog includes an EP, two studio albums, and several singles, along with Emerging Artist honors from the Texas Country Music Awards in 2019 and the Texas Internet Radio Awards in 2024. Expect steel guitar, sturdy storytelling, and a honky tonk jukebox feel. His latest album, Some Kind of Crazy, is available on streaming platforms.

Jeff Ruby at The Red Brick Tavern

Jeff Ruby brings a free solo acoustic performance of original songs to The Red Brick Tavern. This event welcomes all ages. Ruby is a solo artist and songwriter from Indiana whose lyrics draw on real-life struggles, social themes, and resilience, delivered with uncommon honesty and poise. He grew up on a farm in rural Indiana, spent hours teaching himself guitar, and gravitated toward the brooding sounds of Seattle grunge alongside big, melodic Brit-pop. Early success in the stock market pushed him toward a business degree and heavy drinking in college, and music slipped into the background. Looking for a way back, he moved to Orange Beach, Alabama in 2004, quit drinking, and began writing in earnest. Open mic nights led to paid shows. He eventually headed to Nashville with a guitar and a handful of songs, releasing his debut EP, "Beyond The Pale," in 2010. Since then he has continued to perform and release new music.
