The annual Camp LANU campout takes place at Fort Buenaventura with opportunities to play Frisbee golf, cast a line in the river or pond, and visit the museum to learn about the area’s history. Meals are included along with a variety of activities. Attendance is limited to 50 people and spots are first come, first served. The Weber County Jr Posse Cowboy and Queen Contest gathers WCJP members at the Weber County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse for two days of competition and court selection. Eligibility is open to members between ages 7 and 18 based on the stated cutoff. Honors to be awarded include Queen, All Around Cowboy, 1st Princess, #1 Wrangler, 2nd Princess, and Cowpuncher. Entries are submitted online through the link in the event comments, and they must arrive by the deadline since late entries will not be accepted. The entry fee is $25 per contestant, and admission for spectators is free. Parking is limited, with only trucks and trailers permitted in the dirt lot while all other vehicles should park along the roadside. The first day begins with check in and group photos, followed by boys competing in horsemanship while girls complete an interview, an impromptu segment, and a test. The second day continues with boys taking the interview, impromptu, and test, while girls move to horsemanship.

This is the second event in a summer buckle series focused on pole bending. Entries stay open until the start. A school horse draw is followed by saddling and warm up before runs begin, and there is no dress code. All students compete together in a 3D open. Example pole splits use three and six seconds with sample times of 25.000 for 1D, 28.000 for 2D, and 34.000 for 3D. Barrel examples feature one and a half and three second splits with 15.500 for 1D, 17.000 for 2D, and 20.000 for 3D.
