The Kimball Arts Festival in Park City is a nationally recognized, three-day open-air celebration of the arts. BugFest is Utah’s big celebration of insects, bringing together entomology experts and fans for a weekend of bug-themed fun. Enjoy expert talks, close-up specimen displays, hands-on workshops that mix art and science, and family activities like face painting and crafts. There’s also the famous Bug Bar with unique treats. This event is included with museum admission, and workshops require workshop registration.

A welcoming community gathering focused on reducing childhood hunger. Thousands of students rely on school meals during the week, then face food insecurity on weekends. To help bridge that gap, this event will assemble 6,000 Pantry Packs filled with simple, nutritious foods so children can return to class ready to learn. Attendees can volunteer on the packing line or enjoy the festivities, including appearances by local businesses and partners, games and activities for families, face painting, popcorn and other refreshments, food trucks, community resource booths, and live radio broadcasts. Presented in partnership with Young Automotive Group and the Bountiful Community Food Pantry, together with generous sponsors, volunteers, and community organizations. Admission is free, and all are welcome to take part in a day that supports local kids throughout the school year.

A naturalist leads a guided walk on the Swaner Preserve that highlights wetland science, native plants and animals, and the preserve’s history. Seasonal wildlife sightings are possible, including abundant birds, elk, and at times nesting sandhill cranes. Advance registration is required, walk-ins are not accepted, and group size is limited to 15 participants, with registration closing the day of the walk. The route is suitable for all ages on mostly flat terrain with a slight uphill grade, though tall grass, uneven footing, and wet ground can be challenging for some children and seniors. Participants who prefer not to complete the entire tour are welcome to turn around at any point. When snow is present, the walk takes place on snowshoes, which can be rented at the EcoCenter for $2.50 for members and $5 for nonmembers. Please come prepared for the weather. In spring, summer, and fall, wear sturdy shoes or boots and long pants, bring water, and pack sun protection such as sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. In winter, bring boots, snow pants, a warm coat, gloves, a hat, sunglasses, and a water bottle. Dogs are not allowed on these guided tours to protect sensitive wetland habitat.

A whimsical tea party hosted by Rapunzel brings beloved princess friends Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, and Princess Aurora together for a celebratory gathering filled with dancing, sweet treats, creative crafts, and story time. Guests can look forward to special moments with the princesses and an uplifting theme that inspires everyone to chase their dreams. Tea party attire is welcomed. This event is designed for fans of all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult for the entire event, and adult companions are not required to have a ticket. Two sessions are available.

It is designed to offer practical answers, meaningful connections, and accessible support for those navigating autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and learning differences. Millcreek’s 4th Annual Pacific Islander Skate Night brings community, culture, and summertime fun to Millcreek Common. This no-cost, all-ages gathering invites attendees to experience the traditions, music, and spirit of Utah’s Pacific Islander community through an evening of skating, live entertainment, and connection. Enjoy complimentary entry, free skate rentals for the first 1,000 people, and pizza for the first 50 guests courtesy of Millcreek Pizza House. Big Buddah hosts the festivities, with a performance by Liahona, who reached the Top 24 on American Idol, skate demonstrations and interactive moments with the Skate Loop Legends, music from DJ Fuidawg, and cultural showcases by the Malialole Dance Group. This free family program is inspired by the children’s book Over and Under the Pond and offers fun activities that highlight pond life, watershed science, and wetland wildlife. You can drop by any time between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM.

Volunteers help spark creativity at Sunday Craft by supporting Swaner EcoCenter staff during busy hours. This popular, kid centered program welcomes friendly, patient, and reliable helpers who communicate well with children and enjoy guiding them through simple, themed nature or upcycled crafts. Responsibilities include inviting and assisting children, keeping the craft space clean and safe with setup and cleanup, and engaging participants with nature topics that encourage curiosity. The commitment is flexible, whether for a single shift or on a regular basis. To ensure everyone has the chance to participate, volunteers are asked to limit involvement to two shifts per month. Each sign up represents one person, so pairs such as a parent and child should reserve individual spots. Volunteers arrive a little early for setup and instructions and stay briefly afterward to help with cleanup. No prior art or teaching experience is required. Participants must be at least 12 years old and comfortable in a busy, kid focused environment.

Families can drop in to a Sunday crafting session at the EcoCenter featuring an upcycled, nature-themed project. The activity is free, welcomes all ages, and does not require registration. Offered every Sunday by Swaner.

This five-day, weeklong day camp at Millcreek Common gives kids a chance to learn, explore, and play on the Plaza. Campers take part in roller skating, guided climbing wall instruction, and other on-site activities. All sessions are led by Millcreek Common sports managers who are trained specialists in their fields. Separate groups are available for ages 6 to 8 and ages 9 to 12, and early drop off is offered.

The circle welcomes all expectant and postpartum parents, and children of any age are welcome, including new or soon-to-arrive babies. This is not a talk therapy session, but a space to find community and meet people who feel like your people. The aim is to grow as parents within a supportive, fun community that includes familiar faces and newcomers. An all-ages game night at the Utah Pride Center invites attendees to bring friends, board or video games, and snacks to share, or simply come as they are. The event features VR games and a Nintendo Switch with titles like Jackbox, Super Smash Bros, and more. No registration is required. Two hours of free parking are available at the City Creek West parking lot.

This free exhibition at the historic Chase Home Museum of Utah Folk Arts, presented by the Utah Division of Arts & Museums, spotlights four decades of folk expression across Utah. It highlights living traditions and ancestral knowledge carried by multiple generations and cultures, showing how these practices continue to thrive today. Visitors can view a wide range of work, including a handcrafted classical guitar, intricately decorated wax resist eggs, Korean ink and folk paintings, Paquimé style pottery made with local Utah clay, Shoshone beadwork and medallions, traditional Puerto Rican festival masks such as Vejigantes and Cabezudos, and hand twined rag rugs inspired by Great Depression era methods, along with additional pieces. Admission is free, and the galleries provide a welcoming setting for reflection, community, and storytelling.

This weekly parenting yoga class at Glow SLC in Salt Lake City welcomes anyone who is pregnant, preparing for birth, or caring for a new baby, along with support people and those assisting friends, family, or community members who are growing their families. It is hosted by SHAUNTEA and led by owner Destiny S. Lake, a Hatha and Prenatal certified yoga teacher. Participants explore the prenatal and postnatal journey, learn coping techniques for labor and delivery whether birthing or supporting, build strength and a deeper mind body connection, and form meaningful connections with other expectant and postpartum parents. Supporters also gain practical tools to better assist the families in their lives. Bring water and wear comfortable clothing. Bring a yoga mat if you have one, and borrow one on site if you do not. The fee is a sliding scale, pay what you can, between $10 and $25 per class, and eligible HSA and FSA funds may be used. There is no pre registration. Although the class appears on Glow’s website, sign ups and payments are not handled there because SHAUNTEA rents the space. Payment is accepted before or after class. There is ample space and no class size limits. All are welcome, including surrogates, intended parents, family support, and people who do not identify as female. The class is inclusive of all genders, abilities, body shapes, and sizes.
