A naturalist leads a guided walk on the Swaner Preserve that highlights wetland science, native plants and animals, and the preserve’s history. Advance registration is required, walk-ins are not accepted, and group size is limited to 15 participants, with registration closing the day of the walk. The route is suitable for all ages on mostly flat terrain with a slight uphill grade, though tall grass, uneven footing, and wet ground can be challenging for some children and seniors. Participants who prefer not to complete the entire tour are welcome to turn around at any point. When snow is present, the walk takes place on snowshoes, which can be rented at the EcoCenter for $2.50 for members and $5 for nonmembers. Please come prepared for the weather. In spring, summer, and fall, wear sturdy shoes or boots and long pants, bring water, and pack sun protection such as sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. This free exhibition at the historic Chase Home Museum of Utah Folk Arts, presented by the Utah Division of Arts & Museums, spotlights four decades of folk expression across Utah. It highlights living traditions and ancestral knowledge carried by multiple generations and cultures, showing how these practices continue to thrive today. Visitors can view a wide range of work, including a handcrafted classical guitar, intricately decorated wax resist eggs, Korean ink and folk paintings, Paquimé style pottery made with local Utah clay, Shoshone beadwork and medallions, traditional Puerto Rican festival masks such as Vejigantes and Cabezudos, and hand twined rag rugs inspired by Great Depression era methods, along with additional pieces. Admission is free, and the galleries provide a welcoming setting for reflection, community, and storytelling.

Free weekly concerts bring live music to the Canyons Village Forum stage as part of the 2026 Canyons Village Summer Concert Series. This concert features Miles Nielsen & The Rusted Hearts with TJ Gurn. The season’s lineup also includes Daniel Rodriguez String Band with Alicia Stockman, Peech with Aspen Anonda, Emily Brimlow with Amanda Lynn Jones, and The Yawpers with Spencer Paul. Picnics and blankets are welcome, and low-back chairs may be used. Outside alcohol is not permitted. Dogs and umbrellas are not allowed. Dining and shopping options are available on-site. Performers are subject to change. Parking is limited, and sustainable transportation is encouraged, including carpooling, public transit with High Valley Transit, and the Summit Bike Share.

Local vendors will be on hand to explore, creating a relaxed, community-focused outing. Bring your pup and enjoy a casual outdoor gathering centered on canine companionship.

At Golden Braid Books, this welcoming workshop focuses on intentional storytelling, guiding participants to consider what they want to invite into their lives and to begin crafting a personal narrative with purpose. Through gentle prompts and supportive guidance, attendees start shaping a story that treats imagination as a catalyst for real change. Bring something to write on, whether a favorite notebook, a simple journal, or even scrap paper, along with whatever tools you like to write or draw with, such as pens, pencils, markers, crayons, or other art supplies. If a fresh notebook would help, Golden Braid Books has a journal section to explore. Participants are also welcome to bring an iced tea, cookie, or other small treat from Oasis into the session. The gathering lasts about an hour and a half, and it is free and open to everyone.

This weekly parenting yoga class at Glow SLC in Salt Lake City welcomes anyone who is pregnant, preparing for birth, or caring for a new baby, along with support people and those assisting friends, family, or community members who are growing their families. It is hosted by SHAUNTEA and led by owner Destiny S. Lake, a Hatha and Prenatal certified yoga teacher. Participants explore the prenatal and postnatal journey, learn coping techniques for labor and delivery whether birthing or supporting, build strength and a deeper mind body connection, and form meaningful connections with other expectant and postpartum parents. Supporters also gain practical tools to better assist the families in their lives. Bring water and wear comfortable clothing. Bring a yoga mat if you have one, and borrow one on site if you do not. The fee is a sliding scale, pay what you can, between $10 and $25 per class, and eligible HSA and FSA funds may be used. There is no pre registration. Although the class appears on Glow’s website, sign ups and payments are not handled there because SHAUNTEA rents the space. Payment is accepted before or after class. There is ample space and no class size limits. All are welcome, including surrogates, intended parents, family support, and people who do not identify as female. The class is inclusive of all genders, abilities, body shapes, and sizes.
