GUD YogaGood Talk: A Momma’s Boy from God’s Country
Bradford "Braddy Paddy" McMurran returns with Good Talk: A Momma’s Boy from God’s Country, Portsmouth, an unfiltered, funny, and heartfelt solo show about growing up amid the odd poetry of Portsmouth, loving a mother so deeply that adulthood never quite settles in, and searching for laughter while the heart aches. Blending sketch comedy, improvisation, storytelling, and slightly skewed Southern insights, the co-creator of Push Comedy Theater and head writer of the off-Broadway show Cuff Me invites audiences into stories of a larger-than-life mom who could embarrass you, rescue you, teach you, fire off a perfect zinger, and leave you laughing hardest of all… sometimes in a single conversation. Shaped in the weeks after her passing, the piece wrestles with grief, memory, mystery, guilt, and the stillness that follows when the first person who knew you is suddenly gone. It lands as celebration, confession, love letter, and comedy all at once. By turns funny, painful, reckless, warm, and distinctly Southern, it speaks to anyone who has navigated fierce family love and offers a candid glimpse of a comedian working through loss. Tickets cost 17 dollars.
