The exhibit includes content that highlights Southwest Virginia’s heritage. As part of a series of appearances at Food City locations, it will be open for customers to tour at no cost.

Grammy-winning singer and songwriter Jim Lauderdale brings a career-spanning set of country music shaped by decades of constant creativity. Often writing or recording in Nashville, he continues to push himself to make stronger records and songs, and still considers himself an artist in progress. His achievements include two Grammys, 38 albums with more on the way, and the Wagonmaster Award from the Americana Music Association. Celebrated by George Strait for his stage presence, style, songwriting, and voice, Lauderdale has been a key figure in the genre since his 1991 debut. The night begins with an opening performance by Cody Hagerman & Still Pickin'.

The Song of the Mountains concert series at The Lincoln Theatre in Marion, VA features Jim Lauderdale with Cody Hagerman & Still Pickin' opening. Tickets are priced from $39 to $49, fees included. His extensive work with these legends continues to shape and energize his music. Cody Hagerman & Still Pickin', a West Virginia bluegrass band known for a traditional, toe-tapping sound, sets the stage. Cody Hagerman performs on banjo and bass and sings lead and tenor. The group includes Tim Chafin on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Daniel Huff on mandolin and lead vocals, Dustin Gilbert on lead guitar with lead, tenor, and baritone vocals, and Calvin Jones covering bass and banjo along with lead, baritone, and bass vocals. Song of the Mountains showcases standout artists in bluegrass, Americana, and old-time music. These monthly concerts at The Lincoln Theatre are filmed for an award-winning television series that celebrates the music, musicians, and cultural heritage of the Southern Appalachians and airs on public television affiliates nationwide. A special segment showcases rare archival video, including previously unseen footage of the demolition of the historic Graystone Manor and the relocation of several large homes. With a new studio album, Beautiful Life, on the horizon in early 2027, this performance offers a close look at an artist who turns everyday stories into songs that resonate.

A parade to honor veterans aims to fill the streets with Jeeps, American flags, and gratitude for their service and sacrifice. Participants will meet at the old Ramey Ford location near Pop Shop. The start time has not been announced yet.
