GRAMMY and CMA winners The Kentucky Headhunters draw on decades of road-tested energy, from their start as Itchy Brother in 1968 to the breakthrough of Pickin’ On Nashville, an album that sold more than two million copies, along with two Top 10 albums and four straight Top 40 hits. A family-friendly Halloween celebration returns for its third year at Princeton Hammer & Stain, created especially for kids and their families. The experience blends hands-on creativity, playful activities, storytime, and festive moments throughout the studio. Each child’s registration includes several Halloween-themed craft projects, a trick-or-treat tote to decorate and take home, seasonal goodies, access to a photo spot for fun family pictures, and games with prizes. Participants also receive the 2026 limited-edition Hammer & Stain Halloween ornament that is exclusive to this year, beginning a collectible tradition with a new ornament released each Halloween. Guests can explore a small marketplace with local participants. Rachel Looney will offer Halloween face painting for children. Authors Brandi Filer and Angie Wilson will lead storytime sessions featuring their children’s books and will have signed copies available for purchase. Costumes are encouraged but not required, whether that means superheroes, princesses, pirates, ghosts, or other creative favorites. Multiple sessions are planned and capacity is limited. The fee is $35 per child.

At Princeton Hammer & Stain, a cozy autumn gathering inspired by Blackwood Cottage blends creative crafting with a playful whodunit. The scene is warm and welcoming, with a thoughtfully set table, pumpkins at the entrance, and candlelit windows that set the mood for an evening of imagination and connection. The experience begins with a cottage-style art session, where guests choose a vintage seasonal ceramic piece to paint, with all supplies and instruction provided. Dinner is included and the menu will be announced. As the story unfolds, a sudden twist turns the celebration into an interactive Halloween murder mystery filled with clues to follow, suspects to question, and plenty of surprises and laughs. Prizes will be awarded for Master Detective, Best Halloween Costume, and Most Enchanting Mask. Costumes and masks are encouraged but not required, and favorite fall attire fits right in.

A parade to honor veterans aims to fill the streets with Jeeps, American flags, and gratitude for their service and sacrifice. Participants will meet at the old Ramey Ford location near Pop Shop. The start time has not been announced yet.

Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol arrives as a national tour from Right Angle Entertainment and Paul T. Couch, a heartwarming musical with songs by eleven-time GRAMMY winner Dolly Parton. With a book by David H. Bell and an adaptation by Bell, Curt Wollan and Couch, the tale moves Dickens’ classic to the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee in the 1930s. Ebenezer Scrooge is reimagined as the owner of a company mining town, his greed overshadowing the spirit of the season. On Christmas Eve, as a snowstorm gathers, visits from his late business partner and three spirits open the door to a new outlook and a rediscovery of love. Inspired by Parton’s own memories of mountain holidays, the production blends familiar Dickens characters with her signature songwriting. This project is supported with financial assistance from the West Virginia Department of Tourism and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Experience The Nutcracker with a live orchestra. World Ballet Company stages the beloved holiday story with 40 dancers, more than 150 hand sewn costumes, and hand crafted sets, creating a festive spectacle for all ages. Follow Marie on Christmas Eve as the Nutcracker springs to life and leads her through whirling snow, a clash with mice, and the sparkling Kingdom of Sweets. The performance lasts about 1 hour and 40 minutes, including a 20 minute intermission, and welcomes audiences ages 2 and up. Special pricing is available for groups of 10 or more. A Motown Christmas features the Brencore Allstars Band performing holiday favorites from the Motown catalog. The program highlights Christmas songs made famous by the Temptations, Four Tops, Smokey Robinson, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Michael Jackson, the Spinners, the Jackson 5, and more, all designed to lift the holiday spirit.
