Although there is no charge, participants are asked to bring a nonperishable food donation for each bag of documents they bring to shred, with all donations going to area pantries. Confidential Records, an AAA certified shredding company, will provide mobile shredding units staffed by licensed and bonded document destruction specialists who ensure all shredded materials are handled securely. The event will take place rain or shine, and attendees are welcome to watch the shredding process. To keep space available for residents, businesses are asked not to participate. Acceptable materials include old tax returns, bank and credit card statements, medical records, and other personal papers. Items that cannot be accepted include black butterfly clips, hanging file folders, three ring binders, hard drives, magnetic tapes, and plastic items. Bank First highlights prior community impact, with 87,600 pounds of paper shredded across 18 events in 2024 and 91,975 pounds across 20 locations in 2025.
