Yulga DgU-Pick Harvest Day TENTATIVE
Food + Farm Exploration Center hosts a free, family-friendly U-Pick Harvest Day that opens its demonstration farm fields for hands-on harvesting and a closer look at Wisconsin agriculture. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the center is dedicated to helping everyone understand where food comes from and how today’s farming touches daily life. Guests can step into the rows to gather fresh produce, with plans to harvest green beans, potatoes, and cucumbers, while offerings can vary by month and may include seasonal favorites such as potatoes, sweet corn, or green beans. The experience is weather dependent and scheduling may be adjusted accordingly. Admission is free and no ticket is required. Bring your own bags or containers and leave shovels and wheelbarrows at home. Dress for a farm setting with natural terrain and walking, and consider bringing lawn chairs or a blanket for a picnic. Expect family activities in Plover, WI, including a bounce house for kids. Concessions will be available, including a smoked pulled pork sandwich on a buttered potato bun with Apple BBQ sauce, slaw, and pickles, served with Lay’s chips ($10), a hand-dipped corn dog with chips ($7), an Uncrustable with sunflower butter and grape jelly ($3), and desserts such as a sugar cookie with sprinkles or a Lay’s chocolate chip cookie ($3). Beverages include frozen lemonade ($4), a frozen lemon fizz with champagne ($8), local beer and cider ($5), wine ($6), and soda ($3). Picnics on the grounds are welcome, and enjoying some of the day’s harvest is encouraged. Any produce remaining after the community harvest is donated to local food security organizations. Support for these U-Pick Harvest Days comes from WOW – WE CARE CHARITY, INC., Findorff, and Festival Foods.
