PaddleQuest is a paddling adventure fantasy contest where teams of two or three head into The Backwaters to find characters, treasures, and play games to earn tokens. Scouts work toward the Plant Science Merit Badge with a hands-on clinic at the Food + Farm Exploration Center that explores plant biology and the science of agronomy, the production and management of plants for food, fuel, and fiber. Activities delve into photosynthesis, soil function, and seed testing, and participants practice different methods of plant reproduction while learning to distinguish native species from invasive ones. A special focus highlights commercial corn production in the United States, including how growers address pests and diseases to help sustain the nation’s food and fuel supply. This program is designed for ages 11 and up. The cost is $20 per Scout, with members receiving a 10 percent discount. Space is limited to 20 Scouts with a minimum of 10 participants. Registration includes a snack and full general admission for the participating Scout to explore the exhibits after the program. Accompanying adults may purchase discounted exhibit admission for $7. Prerequisites include completing Requirement 7 with a brief written report to bring to the clinic, as well as Option 1E by bringing a picture of the Scout’s corn plot.

At Dyracuse Recreational Park, Rapid Angels and Dyracuse Park present a learn-to-ride clinic created for beginners ages 4 to 17. Bikes and protective gear are supplied by Youth Off Road Riders, and participants receive coaching from Youth Leadership and Adult Mentors. The cost is $75 per child. Children must already be able to ride a bicycle without training wheels. For safety, late arrivals cannot participate. Families bringing their own gear should leave action cameras, recording devices, headsets, and similar items at home, as these are not permitted. An outdoor market at Grand Ave Artifactory features more than 20 booths offering antiques, vintage finds, upcycled pieces, handmade items, local products, and baked goods. This market is part of a recurring series and will take place rain or shine, with a contingency to move to Sunday of the same weekend if severe weather occurs and conditions permit. Vendor space is limited, and all inquiries should be directed only to Jenni Phillipson, who is the sole organizer. Participants ride the Green Circle Trail with NCCT to support conservation in Central Wisconsin. Held at NCCT's Mainland Property, this community bike ride offers multiple course lengths for all participants, including the Sandhill Crane Loop at 25 miles, with additional routes available. This dirt dash brings a full slate of racing and derby action. On the racing side, expect Dirt Dash, FWD/BWD, and Figure 8, each paying $1,000 to the winner, with heats, consis, and feature races determining the results. Derby competition includes UDI Gut N' Go FWD and MWFA/Dirt Dash style, also paying $1,000 to win. Every class comes with a big check, plus payouts and awards for the top three finishers. Registration and tech inspection are required. The entry fee is $60 and covers all events, and a $50 late fee applies to late registration. A Powerwheels segment is part of the program, followed by the racing lineup.

Join in for Jazz on the River, a free Sunday summer concert series featuring live jazz outdoors in downtown Wausau. The show runs from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kickbusch Plaza.
