Late night karaoke takes place in the bar lounge. Admission is free and all ages are welcome.

The Plus hosts an open mic that welcomes music, comedy, and spoken word, with free admission for all ages. It serves as a weekly stage for both established and emerging talent to share songs, jokes, poems, and other creative acts. Sign-up is handled on a first come, first served list at the venue, with eight slots for musicians and poets and sixteen for comedians. Musicians are given two songs, while poets and comics receive five minutes on stage. If your performance is something different, speak with the host to work out the best setup. Performances typically start with music and poetry, pause for a short break, then move into comedy. When a name is called, the performer heads to the stage. The space is intended to be a listening room, so please keep conversation low in the main area out of respect for the performers, and use the bar lounge or patio for louder chats. Basic equipment is available, including three microphones with stands, music stands, stools and chairs, three quarter-inch cables, XLR connections, and a one-eighth-inch input for playing tracks. Performers should bring any additional gear they need.

Karaoke hosted by DJ Todd features an open mic for anyone who wants to sing their favorite songs. The kitchen will be open during the event.

John Primer leads the Real Deal Blues Band in a powerful set that celebrates the essence of Chicago blues. Rooted in Mississippi beginnings and honed on renowned stages worldwide, Primer has performed with legends including Muddy Waters and Magic Slim. Expect authentic tradition brought to life with gritty guitar work, heartfelt vocals, and a tight, driving groove from a seasoned band. Tickets are $25 for non-members and $20 for members.

Chasing Dawn, the acoustic duo of Dawn and Hunter, brings a blend of soulful covers and a few heartfelt originals to Cowboy Jack’s Altoona. Hunter played in bands during his time at the U.S. Naval Academy and flight school, and Dawn previously fronted a well-known Texas cover band that performed for audiences of thousands across the state. Expect a wide-ranging set with songs by artists such as Lainey Wilson, Johnny and June, Chris Stapleton, Lady Gaga, Uncle Lucius, and Def Leppard. Settle in at this western-themed restaurant and robust bar for American favorites with a country twist, enjoy the glow of indoor fireplaces, catch a game, or take in river views from the outdoor double deck. Daily Happy Hour features appetizer and drink specials. Beyond the duo, Dawn releases solo pop and EDM music as Dawn Star, and Hunter raises yaks on their ranch in Denham, Minnesota.
