A mythic comedy with a futuristic edge and a touch of music follows Zetta Stone, a seasoned performer, and Dog, a young man who chooses to live as a dog. Along the way they fall in with two fellow vaudevillians and set out to find an audience, even as they traverse a ruined landscape while being hunted by vicious, starving Lost Boys. Written by Liz Duffy Adams and directed by Logan Toftness, the play blends story and a few songs to build a world that is both ragged and theatrical. The cast features Denise-Alondra Bustamante as Rozetta Stone (Zetta), Will O’Brien as Dog, Nat Leighton as Vera Similitude, Evan Scott Rognholt as Jo-Jo the Bald-Faced Liar, and Nathan Libby and Eric VandenHeuvel as Coke and Bud, scavengers who are grown-up Lost Boys. This production includes strong language and is not intended for children. Tickets are $20 and available at the door.

A summer-only, after-dark trolley tour from the Chippewa River Trolley Company explores the sultrier, shadowy chapters of Eau Claire’s past. Developed as a companion to the October Dark History Tour, it features mostly new stories and takes a closer look at one of the area’s most notorious murder cases that was previously only touched on briefly. As the weather heats up, the narrative follows rising intrigue, focusing on unsolved crimes and lingering mysteries that have challenged both investigators of the past and historians today.
