Citizen Science: Bumblebee Brigade
Learn about common stormwater pollutants and how pollinators and native plants support healthier waterways during a presentation by Kristine Heuser from the Root Pike Watershed Initiative Network. An outdoor, guided observation will follow, focusing on how to identify bumblebees. Observations from the session will be submitted to the Bumblebee Brigade, a statewide citizen science organization that monitors native bumblebees. For additional ways to participate in citizen science, consider logging nature photos with the iNaturalist group. This program takes place in The Community Room - Adult Services, 2nd Floor. Suitable for adults and teens. No registration required.

Gateway Technical College’s dig.IT student club hosts a community PC repair clinic where student volunteers offer troubleshooting, software updates, hardware upgrades, and repairs on a donation basis. It is intended for anyone dealing with computer issues and seeking practical, friendly support. If the scheduled dates are not convenient, the organizers can work with you to find an alternative.

Designed for anyone who identifies as intuitive, including mediums and psychics at any level, this healing circle offers a warm, nonjudgmental space to share, practice, and strengthen your abilities. Think of it as training a muscle, with encouragement to exercise your gifts in a protected and comfortable setting. Natalie Benoit opens the circle with an invocation and prayer, then participants take turns offering impressions and messages received from spirit for those in attendance. Depending on the group size, not everyone may receive input from every person. If you are not ready to be read or to share at first, you are welcome to observe, reflect on your own insights, and take notes on what you learn. Guided by Natalie, the gathering functions as both a supportive community and a space for spiritual healing. She brings more than two decades of experience, has practiced Reiki since 1999 and taught as a master since 2009, and is also a health intuitive, interfaith minister, and holistic wellness coach. The cost is $33, and prepayment is required to register because space is limited to 10 participants. An RSVP by itself does not secure a spot.
