At Durand CUSD 322, the 5th Annual SAMCON '26 presents a model show and contest with judging of entries and an awards presentation to follow. Vendor tables are available for $25.

Relay For Life of Green County presents a spaghetti dinner fundraiser and relay gathering at Koning Maple Lane Event Center. The evening begins with displays, pickup of Facebook auction items, and signups for the silent auction and basket drawings. A spaghetti dinner follows, then a program led by the Event Leadership Team. The night concludes with a Luminaria Ceremony honoring survivors. Spaghetti dinner tickets are $15. Cancer survivors receive a complimentary dinner ticket when they register for the event through the American Cancer Society and also notify Evelyn Crooks. Tickets should be secured in advance, with only a very limited number available on site since meals are prepared based on expected attendance. Carryout meals are available. Dinner includes spaghetti with meatballs, garlic toast, salad, milk or coffee, and a selection of brownies, bars, or cookies. At Northeast Park, Monroe Excellence in Education presents a pickleball event supporting local education. Participants can choose from two tournaments, a co-ed option and a family option, and teams are welcome to enter one or both. Registration is $50 per team. The focus is on friendly competition and community spirit, whether players are aiming for a top finish or simply enjoying the game.

Author Katrina Serwe will take part in a conversation with the book group, focusing on her poetry collection inspired by a thousand-mile journey along Wisconsin’s Ice Age National Scenic Trail. The route moves through singletrack, multiuse paths, bike routes, and quiet roads, pieced together across public spaces, private property, and easements. It grows each year toward the vision of an unbroken off-road corridor spanning more than 1,200 miles of glacial landscapes. Serwe’s verses chart each segment of the trek and listen closely to the trail’s rhythm in every season, weaving reflections and layered imagery with the lingering presence of ancient moraines. Like the glacial till that shaped Wisconsin, the poems guide readers over terrain that is both rugged and gentle, shaped by the energy and ice of long ago. This monthly book group explores a wide range of selections. Copies are available at the library for upcoming discussions. All are welcome, and every viewpoint adds to a lively conversation.

The celebration features the lighting of a giant Christmas tree, cookies and cocoa, alphorn music, and community caroling. This cheerful gathering kicks off the holiday festivities in New Glarus, with the Christkindli Market to follow.

The South Central Tavern League brings its Tour of Hearts Charity Raffle to Bartels & Co. Tap, offering a lively card-draw fundraiser that supports the SafeRide Program and other community initiatives. Raffle tickets can be purchased at Cactus Co. Booze N’ Bites, The Depot, The Horseshoe Saloon, Leisure Lanes Monroe, Nett’s Sports Bar, and Sportsman’s Reloaded in New Glarus. Tickets cost $5 for one or $20 for five, and each purchase enters your name in the drawing. When a name is selected, the winner draws a card to determine the payout. The Queen of Hearts pays 50 percent, any face card or an ace pays 25 percent, and all other cards pay 20 percent, with additional prizes tied to the card pulled. You must be present to claim the main drawing, while consolation prizes can be awarded without being there. Each new month starts fresh with a new deck, new tickets, a new prize pool, and another chance to reveal the Queen. In total, 40 percent of proceeds support charity and 60 percent are paid out in prizes.
