The course also addresses recognizing emergencies, creating a contact card, knowing when to ask for help, and strategies for staying focused with fewer distractions while cooking. Parents, guardians, and caregivers are encouraged to attend at no extra cost. Support persons learn how to foster independence with appropriate supervision, decide when to adjust support, safely include individuals in everyday cooking, respond calmly in both emergency and non-emergency situations, and connect with other families and caregivers. The program emphasizes confidence, life skills, and meaningful connections in a warm, welcoming environment.
