Heidi Latsky Dance: Tracking Parallel

TRACKING PARALLEL presents an hour-long multimedia dance work that culminates in a post-show conversation with Heidi Latsky. Local Author Signing - Katherine Hansen

Local author Katherine Hansen discusses The Confluence Of Rivers: A Memoir Through Digital Love Letters, with copies available for purchase and signing. The story unfolds from an unopened box of saved printouts, preserved for years, that opens a window onto an early era of online connection. In the late 1990s, a straightforward tech support question led to an ongoing exchange with the programmer who answered, and the hundreds of emails they traded chart a friendship that grew into love through words alone, eventually prompting a first journey to Europe to meet face to face. The memoir begins as a recollection told from memory, then turns to the letters themselves to revisit the past, untangle lingering questions, face complicated emotions, and discover what time and memory had reshaped.

Mother's Day Collage Portraits

Local artist Jesse Brunette of ScrappyHourArt leads a special Mother’s Day edition of her collage portrait workshop. Participants create a meaningful portrait that honors a mom or mother figure, celebrates their own experience of motherhood, features their children, or captures a treasured memory. You will leave with a personal, handmade gift for Mother’s Day. Jesse began crafting fictional collage portraits with whimsical biographies as a creative outlet while watching Jeopardy, and that hobby grew into her Scrappy brand, which now includes landscapes, pet portraits, holiday pieces, and commissioned work. Her triptych Lake Cruise was exhibited at the John Michael Kohler Art Center. She is recognized for a friendly, encouraging approach that helps students infuse personality and feeling into their art. All supplies are provided, including canvas, magazines, paper, glue, and tools, for a relaxed, no-prep creative experience. Full Moon Sound Bath - Flower Moon

Under the glow of the full moon, this evening centers on grounding, letting go, and renewal. It opens outdoors on the yoga platform with views of Lake Michigan, pairing fresh lake air and moonlight with guided meditation and mindful breathing. As the moon climbs higher, a gentle, unhurried practice supports the nervous system, softens lingering emotions, and helps you reconnect with your natural rhythm. The experience then shifts indoors for a restorative sound bath, where warmth and comfort set the stage for resonant tones and vibrations that settle the body and invite deep rest. Dress for cool lakeside weather, and consider bringing layers, a blanket, or anything that adds comfort and support. Mats, blankets, and props will be available. America @ 250: A Symphonic Canvas

At the Weill Center for the Performing Arts, this concert features works by Leonard Bernstein, George Gershwin, and William Grant Still. Pianist Llewellyn Sánchez-Werner performs George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, a piece first conceived for solo piano and jazz band for bandleader Paul Whiteman. Ferde Grofé later created the commonly performed orchestral version, and the work premiered at a concert titled An Experiment in Modern Music. The program also includes Symphonic Dances from West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein, drawn from the musical inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, created with Stephen Sondheim, Jerome Robbins, and Arthur Laurents, and shaped by jazz, Afro-Caribbean, and Mexican influences. William Grant Still’s Symphony No. 1 “Afro-American” rounds out the evening, a 1930 composition recognized as the first symphony by an African American performed by a major U.S. orchestra. It blends traditional symphonic form with blues progressions and rhythms associated with popular African American music of the time, and each movement is introduced with an epigraph from poems by Paul Laurence Dunbar.

Driftless Revelers & Davey & the Midnights @ 3 Sheeps Brewing, Sheboygan, WI

Two road-tested roots acts share the stage at 3 Sheeps Brewing in Sheboygan. Davey & the Midnights deliver Americana steeped in the broad American songbook. Formed on the west side of Los Angeles in 2017 and now based in Indianapolis, they have toured the West Coast, the deserts of the Southwest, the Rocky Mountains, the Midwest, and the South while sharing bills with artists such as Kelsey Waldon, Dale Watson, Jesse Daniel, Nikki Lane, TK and the Holy Know-Nothings, the Cordovas, Cristina Vane, Chris Pierce, Rob Leines, and Izaak Opatz. Frontman Davey Allen has toured as a solo artist and as a member of The Stone Foxes, and has performed as keyboardist with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Eric Burdon. He has also directed portions of album sales to the Dolores Huerta Foundation and the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Cultural Center. From Eau Claire, the Driftless Revelers bring a string-driven spin on freak folk that reaches back to early blues and jazz and hillbilly and string band traditions, then wanders into the exploratory sounds of the 1960s and 1970s. Since their debut tour in 2021 they have shared stages with Tim O’Brien and the Gibson Brothers, toured widely around the Upper Midwest, and appeared at gatherings like Sol Grass Music Festival and Mile of Music. Their live sets blend offbeat humor with banjo tones run through wah, the voice of resophonic steel, and upright bass, and they have drawn comparisons to acts ranging from Ween and Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show to They Might Be Giants, Tenacious D, Cheech and Chong, and the Holy Modal Rounders. Their releases include American Fork Standards from 2022 and Live at the Slowpoke Lounge & Cabaret from 2024. Together these bands line up an evening of unconventional country, rock and roll, and freak folk, with sounds traveling from Indiana to Wisconsin.

Kohler Classic 5K run/walk

A community run and walk focused on families, fun, and fitness brings participants together to support local student athletes. The 5K and 1 Mile start together and follow a mostly flat route with a few gentle slopes through Kohler’s historic and residential areas. All races begin and finish at Ebben Field, and a 100 meter dash on the track welcomes children ages 4 and under. Festivities include concessions, a brat fry, a bouncy house obstacle course for kids, a color celebration, and more. Proceeds support Kohler Athletic Bomber Boosters, Inc., a 501(c)(3) that backs all Kohler athletic programs, including 16 high school teams, 9 middle school teams, 12 youth basketball teams, and 2 youth football teams. In 2025 the group contributed $17,500 to the 39 teams it serves, reaching a total of $93,500 since 2019, while also funding major equipment needs and assisting individual teams. It has provided $5,000 for community activities such as Homecoming, welcome events, and a coach social. In 2024 the organization launched a scholarship program awarding four $1,000 scholarships to graduating athletes, along with an additional $500 annual scholarship in the sophomore year for previous recipients.

Guster

Guster brings more than three decades of songwriting and touring to this concert, a journey that has included Billboard-charting tracks, collaborations with noted producers, and a reputation for a close connection with fans. Their ninth studio album, Ooh La La, underscores that ongoing creative spark with warm, organic textures built around acoustic guitar and piano. Crafted primarily with producer Josh Kaufman and mixed in part by Peter Katis, the record faces modern anxieties with a spirit of hope. The single Keep Going, co-written with Rob Kleiner, shimmers with layered harmonies, while All Day reflects the band’s direct and heartfelt lyricism. Tickets are on sale with reserved seating and tiered pricing at $65, $55, $50, and $45 plus fees. Members receive a 10 percent discount, and purchases are limited to six tickets per customer. Doors open one hour before showtime. All sales are final, with no refunds, exchanges, or weather cancellations. The venue is not affiliated with secondary ticket markets, and tickets are available through TicketSearch.
