Smaller courts, shorter racquets, and low-bounce balls help participants experience early success while developing balance, agility, hand-eye coordination, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and self-reliance. The cost is $60 for ages 5 to 8 and $65 for ages 9 to 14. Each participant receives a team T-shirt, an age-appropriate racquet, a ball, and a goody bag. The official summer camp of the Brewers brings professional instruction to Sheboygan at Wildwood Park. Designed for ballplayers ages 6 to 14, this weeklong program runs Monday through Friday and is priced at $425. Participants receive professional Brewers instruction and an MLB quality uniform. The experience may also feature a Brewers player Q&A, a VIP day at American Family Field, four Brewers tickets, and a skills competition with a Champions Day at American Family Field. An annual ladies fishing derby gathers teams on Lake Michigan off the Port of Sheboygan for a full day of friendly competition on the water and a lively celebration on shore. Boats and anglers register at The Wharf / Jeff’s Tackle, and early sign-up is encouraged. For help with registration or questions, contact Grace at 920-458-4406. Complete entry details and rules are provided with registration. On derby day, captains pick up packets at The Wharf / Jeff’s Tackle. All boats hold outside the pier heads until the starting signal, and any early departure results in disqualification. Boats must be docked and in the weigh-in line with their catch to remain prize eligible. Prizes are awarded by weight across five fish categories, with a Grand Fish honor for the top boat and the top individual fish. Each participant receives a door prize ticket for drawings held later at the After Party. All fish must measure at least 18 inches. The bag limit is 15 per boat, and up to nine lines with nine baits are allowed in the water. The public is welcome at the After Party, which features food, drinks, raffles, live DJ music, and dancing. A playful costume and skit challenge adds to the fun with a nautical “whatever floats your boat” theme. Original outfits are encouraged, no fish entry is required to take part, and awards recognize one standout crew as well as one individual.

The session opens with a concise history of bonsai and practical guidance on cultivation, including techniques like selective root and branch pruning that make it possible to shape many kinds of plants for compact spaces. Participants choose a tree and a pot from several provided options, then receive step-by-step instruction to style and plant their own piece. Everyone leaves with the bonsai they created and written care instructions. The cost is $45 per person. Pre-registration is required and closes five days before the class. Kayakers gather at Kiwanis Park for a public paddle hosted by Ecology Outfitters and the Wakkee Paddlers Club. The group will travel along the Sheboygan River to South Pier and back, lighting up the water as they go. A kayak decorating contest is part of the festivities, with judging taking place before the paddle begins and prizes awarded through sixth place. Awards are 100 dollars for first, 75 for second, 50 for third, 25 for fourth, 15 for fifth, and 10 for sixth. Participation is open to all, and the fee for ages 18 and up is 15 dollars with an event T-shirt included, with a day-of rate of 20 dollars.

Their daughter, Grace, arrived at 27 weeks weighing 2 pounds 8.3 ounces and spent 114 days in the NICU while her parents traveled daily from Sheboygan to Green Bay. She returned home on oxygen nearly a month after her due date, and her mother, Emily, has taken an extended leave from her ER nursing job to care for her. The tournament is a double-elimination men’s event with upper and lower divisions, each limited to 10 teams. Entry is $200 per team. Prize payouts are $1,000 for first place and $500 for second in the upper division, and $600 for first and $300 for second in the lower division. Teams can register by sending a message to the Mr. Spark Electric LLC Facebook page, with total participation capped at 20 teams. Raffle basket donations, including baskets, gift cards, or items, are also being accepted through that page. All proceeds go directly to help the Gardner family with medical expenses.

Activities typically begin shortly after sunset with a 30 to 40 minute astronomy presentation accompanied by slides. Presenters choose the focus, often offering an approachable look at one or two topics while highlighting recent developments such as newly found planetary systems, Pluto’s reclassification, and results from the Hubble Space Telescope. If conditions allow, a moderate 8 to 10 inch telescope is set up for public viewing of visible celestial objects. Observing continues while visitors are interested, usually wrapping up when the park closes. The talk is best suited for ages 8 and older, and telescope viewing is appropriate for ages 4 and up. The featured presenter is Jodie Kiyokawa, a graduate student working with Catherine Grier to study supermassive black holes at the centers of galaxies. Originally from Hawai’i, she studied astrophysics at UCLA before joining the astronomy PhD program at UW-Madison. She is an observational astronomer who uses both ground and space-based telescopes to explore the extreme environments near these black holes, and she is active in outreach and mentoring.

This hands-on activity is offered on both days of the Annual Harvest Festival and welcomes participants of all ages, with bags available. While there, explore The Tinker Shoppe’s booth featuring unique board games, toys, gemstones, and stone items.

Myles Wangerin returns to M&T's Gibbsville Orchard after a couple of years for a live solo performance. The singer songwriter and WAMI award recipient brings a solo set on guitar, drawing on influences that include Garth Brooks, Brad Paisley, The Steve Miller Band, and AC/DC. Alongside the music, the orchard offers games, apple picking, a bounce house, and a gift store. Food and drinks will be sold on site. Carry-ins are not permitted, pets are not allowed, and there is no cover charge. Seating is limited, so bringing lawn chairs is encouraged.

Warm up with a one-night stock pot social pop-up centered on fall-inspired soups, stews, and bisques. Each order comes with a generous slice of Oak & Arrow artisan sourdough, and menus feature local meats and produce. An example from last season included sweet corn bisque with chorizo, house jalapeño cheddar cornbread croutons, and green onion. Vegetarian and gluten-free options will be available. Outdoor seating accommodates 20 with ADA accessible spots. If the weather does not cooperate, meals can be packaged to go. Please use street parking.
