Old Circle Arboretum Walk

Explore the Historic Old Circle at City of Charleston Spring Hill Cemetery on a guided evening stroll with Chris Higgins, who will share insights about the arboretum’s trees. The walk highlights two West Virginia Champion Trees alongside other mature specimens, as well as newly planted witch hazels, dogwoods, and viburnums. Expect practical discussion on managing invasive species, improving bird habitat, and protecting young plantings from deer. This welcoming, informative outing suits anyone interested in the trees and stewardship of the arboretum. It is part of a series of activities by the Municipal Beautification Committee and the Kanawha Garden Club in support of the 1000 Tree City Planting Initiative, the Appalachian Spring Project.
