Tales with Tails Summer Series
The Tales with Tails Summer Series offers a quiet way to support the animals at the Casper Humane Society. Participants read aloud to the animals to encourage calm behavior and gentle socialization through soothing voices and a relaxed presence. This simple, caring interaction keeps the animals’ comfort at the center.
Casper Humane Society2026 Bred & Fed Beef Show #3
A celebration of locally bred and fed cattle takes center stage at the Casper College Agriculture Pavilion, presented by the Casper FFA Alumni & Supporters and the Natrona County Farm & Ranch Bureau. This show follows the George Reich Memorial Heifer Show. Bred and fed entries are shown by weight, while George Reich entries are shown by hip height and may be fitted. Eligibility is limited to steers and market heifers that were bred and born in Natrona County to a Natrona County breeder, so animals acquired outside the county by a breeder and later sold to a Natrona County youth do not qualify. There are no entry fees. Each show awards $400 to the Grand Champion, $200 to the Reserve Champion, and $100 to Third Overall. Three showmanship divisions are offered, with Junior for ages 10 and under, Intermediate for ages 11 to 13, and Senior for ages 14 and up. Each division winner receives $100 at every show, and the high point exhibitor in each division earns $300 after the third show. Only glue is permitted for fitting, and added hair-building materials such as twine are not allowed. Series honors include $1,000 and a belt buckle for the Series Grand Champion and $750 and a belt buckle for the Reserve Champion, with additional cash awards of $600 for third, $500 for fourth, $450 for fifth, $400 for sixth, $350 for seventh, $300 for eighth, $250 for ninth, $200 for tenth, $150 for eleventh, and $100 for twelfth. Points in each division are awarded as 10 for Show Champion, 7 for Reserve Champion, and 4 for Third Overall, and class placings earn 10 for first, 9 for second, 8 for third, decreasing by one point per placing down to 1 for tenth. Showmanship support is provided by Abby Reeder LPT Reality, Frank and Dalene Hodnett, and Mike and Jennifer Rodgers of Rodgers Ranch, with additional sponsorship from Burt Andreen, Ed and Debbie Atchley, Burch Livestock, Bullard Cattle, Burns Insurance, Casper College Ag Club, Roxy Chamberlain, Farm Credit Services of America, Hilltop Bank, Heath and Jaime Hornecker, Karel Loraas, Jason and Chellsie Johnson, Natrona County Farm and Ranch Bureau, Noland Feed, Owens Land and Livestock, Wyoming Livestock Roundup, Wing Show Stock and WW Cattle, Lost Creek Outfitters, Rob Shook, Stotz Equipment, Moss Saddles, Boots and Tack, and Kevin and Jackie Nickel.
