USCCA Basic Pistol WY concealed carry class

A certified NRA and USCCA instructor is offering two Basic Pistol classes at Stuckenhoff Shooting Complex. This training satisfies the requirement for the WY Concealed Carry permit, with additional classes to be scheduled as needed. Iris Clubhouse Volunteer Day

Iris Clubhouse is hosting a community volunteer day to set up a new administrative unit and lay the groundwork for a wellness unit that will better serve members and the wider Casper community. A generous donation of desks from the old Casper-Natrona County Health Department, made possible by that department’s recent move, has set the stage for a full space transformation. Volunteers can help with moving furniture, assembling desks, arranging rooms, moving computers, finishing setup, and starting work on the wellness area. The effort calls for both strength and problem solving, since the desks arrived without instructions, and a good eye for design will help make the most of the layout. Additional opportunities may arise, possibly including some gardening and other surprises, and those interested in taking home desks or chairs can bring a truck.

Through photographs and stories from that restoration, she shows how native plants can mend damaged places and rebuild healthy communities where people live, work, and play. Created for Indigenous faith leaders and church-involved community leaders, this one-day Soul Shop for Indigenous Churches workshop equips participants to care for people affected by suicide and deep desperation. The Life of a Plant Girl: Science and Storytelling from Both Sides of the Brain

The keynote for the Library’s Community Read offers an evening of science, storytelling, and connection inspired by "Lab Girl" and the NEA Big Read theme Our Nature. Botanist and author Susan J. Tweit explores how narrative can inform scientific understanding, and how scientific practice can enrich the stories we share. Created in partnership with the Casper College School of Science, the program invites community members, students, and nature lovers to consider how humans relate to the living world. Drawing on her work of reframing nature’s stories, Tweit blends personal experience with ecological insight to show how attention, curiosity, and imagination can illuminate both landscapes and ourselves. Tweit is a botanist, award-winning writer, and lifelong plant enthusiast known for interpreting the language of wild places. She has written thirteen books across memoir, nature writing, and children’s literature. Her memoir "Bless the Birds: Living with Love in a Time of Dying" received the Sarton Award for memoir and was a finalist for the Colorado Book Awards. Her writing weaves science with lived experience to explore the connections between people and the natural world.

The instruction prioritizes more than solo performance, building skills that stay with you so you can lead, train, and operate alongside others in the future. There is a discount for pairs. Formed by Margie Butler and Paul Espinoza, and joined in 2001 by violinist Kathy Sierra, the Celtic trio reflects on international touring spanning four and a half decades and more than 30 releases in formats from LPs to live streams, including an expansive best-of music and video collection on a 25-hour USB that resembles a 1980s cassette. The anniversary program highlights beloved Celtic selections and original pieces that audiences have embraced over the years. On stage, the group blends instrumental folk, song, and storytelling that reach from the Celtic regions of Europe to melodies carried to North America by Irish and Scottish immigrants, along with their own compositions. Book and Curriculum Sale

Browse and sell curriculum and books at a dedicated sale hosted at Boyd Avenue Baptist Church in the Boyd IMPAC Building, located directly behind Verizon Wireless. Sellers who cannot be present for setup can arrange a pickup or drop off of items in advance through a private message. To keep things running smoothly, sort items by grade level before arriving so they can be placed on the appropriate tables, and expect sections to shift as space and inventory change. There will be a designated area for free items, so consider donating pieces you would like to pass along to another mom or family. Pricing is up to each seller, and every item must include a phone number so shoppers can reach out to negotiate if needed. Clear labels are essential. Each item should list the seller’s name, phone number, and price. Index cards secured to the front with painter’s tape work well, while a loose card tucked inside a book may fall out. For sets, keep them together with rubber bands and note on the card that they are sold as a set, for example indicating a three book bundle.

Participants may bring up to two banker boxes of unwanted personal documents, such as old account statements, cancelled checks, ATM receipts, and outdated credit reports, to be shredded at the branch by a truck parked in the lot. The service is free, and donations to Food Bank of Wyoming are appreciated through a partnership that helps provide food and necessities to people in need. To keep the process quick and safe, visitors should remain in their vehicles and drive up to the truck, where personnel will assist with disposing of documents. In case of inclement weather, participants can park and bring boxes inside the branch. Acceptable materials include white or colored paper along with staples and paper clips, while newspapers, magazines, glossy paper, black binder clips, and spiral-bound items are not accepted. WyHy provides free shredding services to the public as part of ongoing community support efforts.

A Tapestry of Yoga - 300hr YTT Graduation Immersion

This 5K at Natrona County High School pays tribute to the courage, perseverance, and ongoing contributions of women who have served. The event supports Ms. Veteran America, a competition that recognizes women beyond their uniforms, and benefits Final Salute Inc., an organization dedicated to providing safe and suitable housing for homeless women veterans and their children. It also shines a light on the challenges of moving from military life to civilian life. The experience symbolizes a shift from combat boots to running shoes, from active duty to advocacy, and from service in uniform to service within the community. Participants can run, jog, or walk, and every step helps raise awareness of women veterans, bolster housing and stabilization efforts, empower those who wore the uniform, and strengthen the local veteran community.

The 22nd Annual Vista Toyota Golf Country Classic at Casper Country Club brings golfers together to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming. Participants will meet at the Bear Trap Meadow parking area on Casper Mountain, then carpool to Muddy Mountain for a North Face hike with the IWLA Clubhouse Hiking Club. The route is an approximately 4 mile loop. High clearance vehicles are required to reach the starting point, so transportation should be planned accordingly.
