Celebrating its nineteenth year, the GO Run takes place at Hancock Whitney Stadium with two distances, a 5K and a one mile fun run. With presenting support from the Catranis Family Charitable Foundation, the event raises funds for gynecologic cancer research at USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute. The 10th Annual Bras Across the CAUSEway 5K & Festival takes place at USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park. The program ranges from Green Hill Zone to Undefeatable, with hidden musical nods threaded through the arrangements. A book and plant themed bingo night comes to Oyster City Brewery, created in response to the enthusiasm for Storylight and I Reads & Seeds. The evening features playful rounds with chances to win plants and books. The 5th Annual Gulf Coast Mac Down spotlights the region’s vibrant food culture and the enduring appeal of macaroni and cheese. This gathering welcomes families and pets, with music, activities for kids and adults, and plenty of mac and cheese to sample. Teams face off for the Golden Noodle and the right to claim the South’s best mac and cheese. Spire Energy presents this event, and proceeds support The Cookery Project’s Tackling Out of School Hunger Initiative. Admission includes cake walks, cookie decorating, face painting, a gaming truck, laser tag, a mac and cheese eating contest, music by DJ Fergg, and an obstacle course.

The group’s momentum includes a self-titled debut in 2024 that moved more than 500 vinyl copies within weeks, a 2025 live release titled Live at Purple Bee, and the newest single So Much Fun, created entirely in-house from recording through mastering and reflecting the resilience of an emerging band. This lecture with Dr. Alison Henry, a Senior Instructor at the University of South Alabama and local historian, explores Mobile’s early history. It looks at Fort Louis at 27 Mile Bluff, the 1704 arrival of the Pelican Girls sent by the king, and how 23 young women helped shape the future of the Gulf Coast. The program also reflects on the legacy of these events, including outcomes that are celebrated as well as aspects that remain debated today.
