Warhammer 40k // Dominatus Campaign

Take part in a free-entry Warhammer 40,000 Dominatus campaign where players bring a 1000 point Incursion Force and are placed into one of three factions: Liberators, Oppressors, or Raiders. The action begins with two rounds in the First Encounters phase, with each round lasting two weeks, followed by two rounds of Pitched Battles. The campaign culminates in a Final Mission played at Strike Force size with 2000 points. The faction that prevails claims control of the store until a new result changes hands, and that status will be displayed on the GNG website. Main game night is Thursday, but matches can be arranged at any time. There are no preset pairings, so you can organize as many games as you like with any opponents. A log sheet will be available to record wins, losses, and results. Please keep submissions fair, as excessive repeat matchups will be noticed.

At Red Beard’s Outfitter, this relaxed yet spirited road run welcomes all speeds and experience levels. Participants can choose a 5K route for a longer cruise through town or a 1 mile option for a quick session or an easy start. After the finish, refreshments and conversation keep the community vibe going with plenty of shared stories. Wear your go-to running gear, and there is no need for a Sasquatch costume. For safety, bring a headlamp and add reflective gear so everyone stays visible and looks out for one another.

Summer: Praise & Skate

Summer Praise & Skate transforms Rambo’s Skateland into a faith-centered skating night where churches, youth groups, families, and individuals can share time together on the rink with worshipful and contemporary Christian music. The goal is to offer a safe, positive, Christ-focused environment for fellowship, music, and fun. Admission is $3 per skater and includes regular skate rental. Skatemates, speed skates, and rollerblades are available for an additional $3 each. The playlist features Christian music only, and song requests are welcomed throughout the evening. The snack bar will be open, and outside food or beverages are not permitted. A digital snack bar menu is available upon request. A Pay It Forward option makes it possible to cover admission for other guests. Contributions such as $30 for 10 skaters, $60 for 20, or $90 for 30 are distributed on a first come, first served basis, and recipients are notified at the door. The event is open to all ages. Groups are asked to provide appropriate supervision and to reach out ahead of time so accommodations can be planned. Parking is limited, so carpooling or traveling by church van or bus is encouraged. Churches and groups may pay by check at the door, payable to Rambo’s Skateland, and personal checks are not accepted. Organizers aim to continue this gathering as a monthly Christian skate night, with future dates announced in advance.

An Evening with Chip Herrington

At The Peoples Room of Mobile, trumpeter Chip Herrington leads his jazz sextet in a performance centered on genuine acoustic jazz in a traditional club setting, often called lounge jazz. Herrington’s story started at age seven, when he found a cornet and a beginner band book in his Columbia, Mississippi attic and taught himself the C scale that same day. He is known as the trumpet player with Wet Willie’s Hurricane Horns and as bandleader of The Mobile Big Band Society, and he has performed with artists such as Aretha Franklin and Lou Rawls. His studio credits include recordings by Eric Erdman, Donna Hall, Tom Riepl, and others, and regulars at the venue may recognize him as Lisa Mills’s sideman on Sexy Muted Trumpet. American Legion Post 199 hosts an annual memorial ride honoring Kahuna Pineapple, also known as Sumner Howard, who served as Road Captain for the American Legion Riders and died in a 2024 accident in Mobile. The ride takes place at Bobs Downtown Diner and pays tribute to his memory, with proceeds benefiting motorcycle training for the Riders of Post 199.

Khorneval IX: The Quest for the Lady's Favor

Khorneval IX: The Quest for the Lady’s Favor invites coaches to step into the chivalric spirit of Castle Brionne in the kingdom of Bretonnia, where a three day celebration sets the stage for an epic squad based tournament. The festivities begin with a Friday night icebreaker, then shift to a five round contest spread across two days, organized as a three team squad event. Pairings start at random for the opening round, then move to Swiss matching at both the squad level and within squads for individual coaches. As a Voodoo Tournament Series Major, results from this event carry extra weight toward the Voodoo end of year standings. Competition follows Matched Play rules from the Third Season Rulebook with specific restrictions. Only one Prayers to Nuffle may be taken. If a League type result tied to SPP is rolled it confers no benefit. Mercenaries and wizards are not allowed, and Bretonnian decree keeps Star Players out of the arena. Each team builds a roster with 1,150,000 gold pieces with no sharing of funds. Skill packs use tiered allotments, granting 6, 8, 9, or 10 points from Tiers 1 through 4. Primary skills cost 1 point, Secondary skills cost 2 points, stacking is not permitted, and each tier limits how many Secondary skills may be taken. Squads receive 9 points to assemble their roster of teams with inverse tier costs of 4, 3, 2, and 1 for Tiers 1 to 4, and no two teams in a squad may be the same race. Tiering follows the current Games Workshop lists from the Blood Bowl download section and may change if updated by GW or The NAF, with a cutoff date noted in the event materials. Mental Health Awareness and Suicide Prevention

Dearborn YMCA and Z.E.C.H. A free, six week Star Wars: Shatterpoint league unfolds across three rounds played every two weeks. Build a full Shatterpoint force with two squads forming your Strike Team. Each squad must be composed entirely of units from a single era, and the combined points of your Secondary and Support may not exceed your Leader’s total. Missions progress by round, starting with Strategic Positions, followed by First Contact, then Shifting Priorities. Every participant receives foil versions of Vader, Leia, and Chewbacca. The winner also earns an extra foil Shatterpoint card, an acrylic winner card featuring Luke Skywalker, Daring Hero, and a Luke Skywalker Foil Champion card. The top four take home a stamped Luke Skywalker card. The top eight add a foil Shatterpoint along with foil Shin Hati and foil Baylen Skoll cards. Anyone outside the top four also receives an unstamped foil Luke Skywalker card.

Marvel Crisis Protocol // Operation Zero Tolerance

Take part in a six week Marvel Crisis Protocol league that features the new Operation Zero Tolerance scenarios. There is no entry fee. Pairings are updated every two weeks using players’ point totals. Participants should bring three Secure and three Extraction cards, and the store will provide five new Operation Zero Tolerance Secure and Extraction options. Priority is determined by a roll. The player with priority chooses one Secure from their own selection and one Secure from Operation Zero Tolerance, then the opponent selects which of those two will be used. The player without priority repeats the process for Extractions, and again the opponent makes the final choice. The mission chosen sets the threat level. All players receive promo cards for Prime Sentinel in two versions, Bastion, Nimrod, and Omega Sentinel. The top finisher earns a set of purple MCP dice, with additional prizes based on the number of participants.

Healing the Community: Black Medical History Tour

Presented by the Dr. James Franklin Historic House & Gallery in partnership with the Mobile Medical Museum, this guided experience explores Mobile’s Black medical history through the people and places that shaped care during segregation. The route highlights neighborhoods and sites that once housed Black-owned pharmacies, hospitals, and clinics, focusing on Black doctors, nurses, midwives, pharmacists, and community health leaders who delivered essential care with limited resources and strengthened their neighborhoods. The program begins at the Historic Avenue Cultural Center with a look at historic photographs, medical instruments, and interpretive displays. Afterward, participants board vehicles to continue the journey and return to the Cultural Center at the end.
