4th annual Gulf Coast Classic fly fishing festival

The Gulf Coast Council of Fly Fishers International presents the fourth annual fly fishing festival at the Learning Campus at Gulf State Park. The event brings together accomplished fly tiers, casting instructors, fly fishing experts, conservation advocates, and a mix of commercial and nonprofit exhibitors, along with a full slate of activities. The venue features a modern theater, meeting rooms, outdoor spaces, nearby dining, and convenient access to a 600-acre brackish lake and to beaches. Programming includes seminars on places to fish, tactics, and target species, conservation sessions, fly tying demonstrations, exhibitors and vendors, and beginner workshops included with admission. Advanced fly tying and casting workshops require registration and a fee. Additional highlights include the Mixed Bag Challenge fishing contest, a screening of the Fly Fishing Film Tour that requires separate registration, a keynote focused on conservation, and raffles with unique items. Attendees may register for one or both days, and a family discount is available. Registration is required for workshops, the Mixed Bag Challenge, and on-campus lodging. A limited number of on-campus lodging options are available at a reasonable rate.

FFI Gulf Coast Council presents 2026 Fly Fishing Film Tour

Presented by the FFI Gulf Coast Council, the Fly Fishing Film Tour marks its 20th year with a fresh lineup of short films that celebrate the sport and build excitement for the season ahead. The screening takes place at Conservation Hall in Gulf Shores Park. Tickets are $25 per person when purchased in advance, and seating is limited to 200. In addition to the films and a welcoming atmosphere, attendees can expect door prize drawings featuring items from Costa, Yeti, Simms, and other sponsors. This film event is affiliated with the Gulf Coast Classic organized by the Fly Fishers International Gulf Coast Council, yet admission to the Classic is not required. The Gulf Shores stop of F3T follows the conclusion of the Classic at the Gulf Shores Park Learning Campus and is open to everyone.

Salty Shuffle Charity Poker Cruise

Presented by the Sea Glass Initiative with Legendary Marina and Yacht Club Gulf Shores and Dockside Guide, this family-friendly charity poker cruise spends a day on the Intracoastal Waterway. Boats will make stops along the route from Orange Beach to Gulf Shores, then gather at Legendary Marina for an after-party featuring music, food, games, a silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle. Cash awards go to the top two poker hands, and there is also a contest for the best decorated boat. Each vessel entry includes a custom T-shirt and a captain’s swag bag. All boat types are welcome, with a vessel entry fee of $100 and $30 per additional player. A new kickoff reception for captains and sponsors is planned at Legendary Marina and Yacht Club Gulf Shores. Capacity is limited, and participation supports the Sea Glass Initiative’s efforts to end homelessness in Baldwin County.

The day begins with check in and a welcome, then moves into morning and afternoon sessions before pickup at the Learning Campus. Lunch is not provided, so participants should bring their own meal.
