Sundilla presents the return of Joe Crookston for a concert at AUUF. A songwriter, guitarist, fiddler, slide player and painter, as well as an eco-village member with an expansive outlook, he is known for a dynamic stage presence that fosters a close connection with the audience. His career includes tours with Gordon Lightfoot, headlining major US festivals, a Folk Alliance International Album of the Year honor, and time as a Folk Alliance International artist in residence. He has shared stages with Suzanne Vega, Dar Williams, Arlo Guthrie, David Francey, John McCutcheon, John Gorka and Judy Collins, and his songs have inspired award winning films. Expect humor, rhythmic drive and quiet, transcendent moments, all anchored by finely crafted lyrics. Advance tickets are $20 at Spicer’s Music and Ross House Coffee, admission at the door is $25, and students with ID pay $15 at the door. Valley Alabama jeepers gather to support March of Dimes with a day featuring a craft fair, food trucks, live music, raffle items, and a 50-50 drawing. Participants can compete for a best show award, a people show award, a kids show award, and top five for each class awards. Pre-registration is $20, and registration on the day is $25.

The Southern Miss Golden Eagles visit the Auburn Tigers for a nonconference clash under the lights at Jordan–Hare Stadium. This meeting matches Auburn’s speed and depth with a Southern Miss squad looking to measure itself against SEC competition, creating a loud setting and a strategic test on the field.

The Chewacla Cha Cha Trail Race brings 5K and 10K distances to the wooded singletrack of Chewacla State Park in Auburn, Alabama, with proceeds benefiting Valley Rescue Mission. Runners can expect rolling terrain, shaded forest paths, and a welcoming atmosphere suited to both newcomers and experienced trail enthusiasts. The 5K covers one scenic loop and the 10K completes two loops, with staggered wave starts to keep the opening miles smooth and safe. Late starts are not permitted, race day registration is very limited, and there are no transfers, refunds, or deferments. Every participant receives a race shirt and a finisher award. Support includes one aid station on the course and another at the finish offering water, CeraSport, and individually wrapped snacks such as pretzels, chips, fruit chews, and candy. Runners are encouraged to carry a water bottle and prioritize hydration, and organizers may remove anyone showing signs of dehydration or distress. Overall awards will be presented to the top male and female finishers in each distance. Entry to the park requires a $4 day use fee per person that is not included in registration, and carpooling is encouraged to reduce congestion.

An adult group ride departs from the Lower Pavilion parking lot at Chewacla State Park and returns to the same spot. It is a no-drop outing, and the distance and pace are adjusted to the group so riders of any skill level can participate and feel comfortable riding trails together. Helmets are required without exception, and if someone arrives without one there are often spare helmets available from fellow riders. Because night riding is allowed by special permission, participants are expected to follow the park’s night ride rules to help preserve this privilege. Chewacla State Park collects entrance fees. Admission is $4 per person for ages 12 to 61, $2 for children ages 4 to 11, $2 for seniors 62 and up, free for children under 4, and free for prior and current military with ID. Participants are encouraged to support CAMP, which helps fund local trail efforts. Membership offers benefits, is tax deductible, and costs $39 per year.
