Free Family Fun Reading Event - Read to Succeed

This free Read to Succeed gathering at Arkansas TV headquarters offers a family friendly evening of literacy fun. Each household receives an Arkansas TV reading resource bag that includes a copy of If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. Children also take home a swag bag with an activity book, Playdoh, a pencil, a pencil sharpener, a sticker, and a healthy snack. Design a table runner suited for festive gatherings or everyday meals while learning three cornerstone quilting techniques in one approachable project. Under the guidance of instructor Debbie Landers, you will work through strip piecing for bold center medallions, efficient chain piecing for crisp four patch blocks, and accurate flying geese units using the Creative Grids Ultimate Flying Geese Tool. The class also focuses on improving cutting, piecing, and trimming accuracy so the runner comes together smoothly from first cut to final stitch. This beginner level class is priced at $30 and enrollment is limited to 12 students to support close instruction. Please bring a sewing machine in good working order, thread, bobbins, scissors, a 6 by 24 ruler, a rotary cutter, and a seam ripper. The Creative Grids Ultimate Flying Geese Trim Tool and the Legacy Table Runner pattern are required. Fabric needs include a half yard of red chain print, a half yard of green for the medallion block, a half yard of plaid for the accent and binding, a half yard each of two background fabrics, one yard for the backing, and batting measuring 20 by 65. Good Day AudioBook Club

The audiobook club meets in the Party Room for creative time and conversation. Settle in with a project of your choice, then paint or craft while listening to your own selection. Near the end, there is an optional general book discussion as everyone wraps up and checks out. Entry is free, and you choose and pay for your project during the gathering. You can paint pottery, whether starting something new, rescuing an abandoned piece, or continuing a work in progress, with standard 60 day and maximum three visit rules in effect. 2026 Big Dam Bridge 100 Training Program

A training ride series created to help more Arkansans prepare for and take part in the annual BDB100 ride. It also encourages participants to build connections with local riders, clubs, and bicycle shops. Riders are organized by experience and goals tied to the 26 and 50 mile routes. New cyclists can get comfortable on the bike and learn group basics. Those new to riding in a pack and aiming for 26 miles receive guidance on safety and technique. Regular recreational riders work toward completing 50 miles or improving a 26 mile time. Enthusiasts focus on pacing, fueling, and smooth cooperative pace-line skills, with readiness for 50 miles and the possibility of stretching to 75. Training outings take place on alternating Saturdays. The program opens with a kickoff gathering at Lost 40 Brewing, and rides roll out from Murray Park. A dress rehearsal at the Young Life River Classic is included, and the journey leads into the BDB100 itself. Registration is $50, limited to the first 120 participants, and the minimum age is 12. Building Blocks is a beginner-friendly quilting class in a continuing series, ideal for new quilters or anyone looking to refresh piecing skills. Learn to Quiltworx – Indian Summer - Class #3

Learn the Quiltworx approach while sewing the Indian Summer Autumn design, a project that highlights a gentle, muted rainbow palette for a soothing, well balanced finish. Quilters who enjoy Lori Holt’s Piece and Plenty collection can put those fabrics to work in a pattern that builds skills in clear, sequential steps. Vida provides guidance throughout so each stage builds on the last and the overall process feels approachable. Instruction focuses on completing a full quilt with the Quiltworx method, practicing foundation paper piecing for precision, organizing and following a multi stage layout, and gaining confidence with a larger project. Suitable for confident beginners. The class fee is $60 and enrollment is limited to 10 students. This is a kit required class. The kit provides all fabric for the quilt top and binding, and includes the pattern and foundation papers. Backing is not included. The finished size is 68 by 68 inches. Learn curved piecing while making the Mod Owls Revival quilt in a friendly, step-by-step class with Vida. You will work with curve rulers from Sew Kind of Wonderful and discover a streamlined method for curves that lets you cut, sew, then square your blocks without the usual pinning or fussy setup. Expect to build smooth, consistent curved seams and improve accuracy through careful cutting and squaring techniques. This session is designed for confident beginners. Tickets are $10. Children 12 and under are admitted free, and parking is free. Pre purchased tickets allow early entry, and some ticket days include complimentary return admission later in the weekend.

Santa Beach Mini's

Trade snow for sunshine with playful mini portrait sessions where Santa shows up in vacation attire. Children can dig in real sand, build sandcastles, and even challenge Santa to a friendly Nerf battle, all in front of a beach-themed backdrop chosen by popular vote on Facebook. The focus is on relaxed, candid images that offer a breezy alternative to formal holiday portraits. Each booking includes a 20 minute session and welcomes all ages. Up to four people can be photographed per time slot, and larger families are encouraged to book two consecutive sessions to give everyone ample time. Pets are welcome for a one-on-one portrait on the sandy set. Availability is limited for these special sessions, and a $50 deposit secures your time. Santa will be dressed for a tropical break before the busy season, complete with a Hawaiian shirt, summer shorts, and red shoes. The fourth annual Central Arkansas Delta Waterfowl Banquet brings together duck hunters, conservation supporters, and outdoor enthusiasts for a signature evening centered on conservation and camaraderie. Table sponsorships do more than secure seats. They help fund waterfowl conservation, youth hunting opportunities, and scholarships that support the next generation of Arkansas outdoorsmen and women. Exhibition on Screen returns with an award-winning film portrait of Frida Kahlo, originally released to limited audiences during the pandemic and now expanded with new material from the major Tate Britain and MFA Houston exhibition. The documentary looks beyond the iconic image to the person behind it, tracing her rebellious, passionate, and turbulent life while exploring her art in vivid detail. Using Kahlo’s own letters and state-of-the-art imaging, it examines pivotal works and reveals the emotions, symbols, and stories within them. Conversations with people who knew her and leading scholars, paired with intimate views of her home, studio, and artworks, illuminate the sources of her creativity, resilience, and fervor for life, beauty, and change. Finally Fall Barrel Race

At KS Arena, the Finally Fall Barrel Race features added money and divisions for all ages. The Open offers $300 added with a $50 entry fee, the Youth offers $100 added with a $30 entry fee, and Peewee entries are $10 with no office fee. A $10 office fee applies to other divisions. Exhibitions are $5 and are sold with pre-entries. Peewee runs first, followed by the Open. Text entries are accepted at 8704842306. Retrofest Arkansas Retro Car show vehicles 1965-2002

Retrofest Arkansas returns for a third edition with a nostalgic blend of classic gaming and a newly added retro car show. Inside the Conway Expo Center, attendees will find favorites like Super Nintendo, Sega, and Nintendo 64, while vehicles are displayed under the pavilion. The car lineup spans 1965 to 2002, with nods to memorable rides from television and film. Judging uses a 100 point system with first and second place awarded in multiple classes, including Groovy 1965 to 1969, Slammin' 1970 to 1979, Fantabulous 1980 to 1989, Whip 1990 to 2002, Volksdubbin VW, Mustang (Stang) 1964 to 2002, Motorcycle (Two-wheeler), and The Hollywood Heroes Theme Class that highlights movie and TV inspirations such as Ghostbusters Ecto-1 and the General Lee, along with retro game or iconic vehicle or character themes. Special awards include Raddest Ride for Best of Show, Righteous Theme Ride for the top Hollywood Heroes build, Bodacious Bike for the best motorcycle, People's Choice as the sole crowd-selected honor, and recognition for the farthest distance traveled. Each judged entry receives a ticket plus one for a passenger to access the Retrofest game area, with an option to upgrade for the after party. Year One of The AlchemyXXII Witches’ Ball brings The Midnight Society to life with a once-a-year gathering of witches, mystics, and midnight wanderers. This immersive Samhain gala evokes a night where magic lingers, music drifts into late hours, and the veil between worlds feels thin. Highlights include a guided court dance rooted in regency traditions, opportunities for tarot and other forms of divination, and immersive performances unfolding throughout the evening. A ritual at midnight marks the rise of Samhain energy, followed by dancing that carries the celebration late into the night. The dress code leans into occult aristocracy, dark regency, and witch court glamour. Picture velvet and lace, crowns and capes, masks and lavish witchy elegance. Set in downtown Little Rock, with the specific venue to be announced, this annual gathering returns only once each year. Tickets will be released soon, and a guest list provides early access along with the venue reveal and event updates.
