    See details

Step away from constant busyness and give yourself space to slow down and truly rest. This restorative yoga class offers a calm, nurturing approach that supports the body so it can move into deep relaxation and gentle recovery. Instead of emphasizing strength or flexibility, the focus is on comfort, stillness, and ease. Complete support allows muscles to soften, the mind to quiet, and the nervous system to drift into a deeply restorative state. All levels are welcome, and no prior yoga experience is needed. It can be especially helpful for stress, burnout, fatigue, and while recovering from injury, as well as for anyone seeking a slower, more intentional counterbalance to an active routine. Art Insights: "The Age of Anxiety"

Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, 501 E 9th St, Little Rock · verified Oct 4
    See details

Discover how conflict, political turmoil, and rapid social change fueled a major movement in 20th century art during an Art Insights program with Dr. Catherine Walworth, AMFA’s Jackye and Curtis Finch, Jr. Curator of Drawings. Serving as an introduction to The Age of Anxiety: German Expressionism in Art and Film, the talk looks at paintings, prints, and film to show how artists responded to the upheaval surrounding World War I with imagination and innovation, turning the pressures of modern life into powerful and unsettling works. Presented in cooperation with the Institute for Cultural Exchange and the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Murnau Foundation, the exhibition is generously presented by Anne and Merritt Dyke. Among the works associated with the exhibition is Otto Dix’s “Nebel am Abend (Fog in the Evening),” 1922, a watercolor and gouache on paper on loan from the collection in the Willy-Brandt-House, Berlin.

    LSJC - Annual Veteran's Day Run 2026

Hot Springs Off Road Park, 2100 Millcreek Rd, Hot Springs · verified Oct 2
    See details

Honor those who served with a full weekend of off-road fun at Hot Springs Off-Road Vehicle Park. This annual gathering is the club’s biggest event of the year, blending trail rides with a membership meeting and time to enjoy the crisp fall air. Many participants travel on Thursday, fit in some wheeling, and handle check-in at the office. On Friday and Saturday, drivers arrive, air down, disconnect, and stage in the parking area at the top of the hill rather than by the office. A drivers meeting kicks off each day’s trail runs, there is a break for lunch, and the group heads back out for more trails through the afternoon. Friday evening features a membership meeting and dinner with welcomes, updates, introductions of new board nominees, and raffle prizes. Saturday riding continues until dusk, and many head home on Sunday. Choose your pace by lining up behind the Jeep with the flag color that matches your preferred challenge level. Green identifies the easy group, orange marks the medium or hard group, and red leads the ZED group for the most extreme trails. General communications are on GMRS channel 22. Trail fees apply, and the park offers advance ride booking through its website. For questions or emergencies before or during the ride, call or text 469-300-1340 to reach Tim Mahaffey or an assigned event lead.

Exhibition on Screen Presents, Pissarro: Father of Impressionism

100 River Market Ave, Little Rock
    See details

This film traces Camille Pissarro’s journey and lasting influence on Impressionism. Born in the West Indies and drawn to painting as a young man in Paris, he gathered a circle of like-minded artists by his early forties. Their first exhibition drew sharp criticism, yet the group emerged with a new identity as the Impressionists, and for the next four decades Pissarro remained a driving force in what is today a favorite art movement around the world. His life and work are illuminated through intimate letters to his family, revealing a devoted parent and generous mentor who embraced experimentation, read widely, engaged with social issues, and held anarchist beliefs. Filmed in France and at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford as well as the Kunstmuseum in Basel, the production includes exclusive access to the largest archive devoted to an Impressionist painter and to the first major Pissarro retrospective in forty years. It offers a vivid, in-depth portrait of an extraordinary artist. Seating is general admission, so early arrival is recommended to secure a seat. Beer, wine, and concessions will be available.
