    The Pomona Concert Band’s 79th Annual Summer Concert Series brings a program titled Conductor Favorites to Palomares Park. Led by Artistic Director and Conductor Linda W. Taylor and hosted by columnist David Allen, this performance highlights music she has cherished with the ensemble, including Toccata for Band, On a Hymnsong of Philip Bliss, Sousa’s Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, Days of Wine and Roses, and Marching Down Broadway. Presented free of charge, the series includes a concession stand for refreshments. Sponsored by the City of Pomona, this season is being held at the Palomares Park Community Center while the bandshell at Ganesha Park undergoes emergency repairs. Musicians from Pomona and more than twenty surrounding communities perform under the leadership of Linda W. Taylor, with Assistant Conductor Kerry Kline.

For this session, the featured book is Together by Mona Damluji. Guests can bring a blanket and snacks to relax under the big oak. This free, drop-in program requires no reservations and may be canceled in the event of rain or temperatures over 100 degrees. The program is made possible through a grant from Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts.
