The Barony of Calafia honors the legacy of the former Colleges of Calafia, including the College of Saint Artemas, with a gathering that blends the cherished customs of Leif and Artemas into one celebration of Leif Artemas Erickson. Activities include bead stringing for festoons, playful ice floes, and a variety of Viking and Artemas games. Artemas green and yellow garb is encouraged. Opening and closing courts will be held, with timing at the discretion of Their Excellencies, and tournament lists will close during the day. Lunch details will be announced. Registration is $20 for adults, with a $10 discounted rate for adult members, and youth under 18 are guests of the barony. Participants choose to make either a reversible tote measuring about 18 by 12 inches or a crossbody bag measuring about 11 by 9 inches. The fee is $85, all supplies are included, and enrollment is limited to eight people. A selection of fabrics and trims will be provided so each person can customize their bag. The class suits those with basic machine and sewing skills or quick learners, and prior experience can help with finishing within the session.
