LACM: Los Angeles College of Music"A Taste of Labyrinth" Throne Room dance workshop
An annual workshop designed to prepare dancers for the Throne Room at the Labyrinth Masquerade Ball at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. Participants learn the Throne Room group dances along with the elegant Congress of Vienna waltz. Tickets are available as a combined option that includes a pre-event Waltz Survival session for $40 or as admission to the main workshop for $35. The experience pairs guided instruction and practice with time for tea, plus chances to meet the Dreaming Court and connect with other Labyrinth fans. Beginners are welcome, no partner is required, and practice time is provided with plenty of partners. Wear comfortable footwear that moves smoothly on a wood floor, and avoid high heels and sneakers. Costume pieces are welcome if you would like to practice moving in them. This workshop does not handle ticketing for the Labyrinth Masquerade Ball, and the hosts lead the dancing in the Throne Room during the Ball.

Clazzical Notes has curated a performance by singer and songwriter Brighton Thomas with guitarist Louis Cheong. Brighton, a Los Angeles native, pairs storytelling with a soulful voice and blends vintage and contemporary influences. Her recognitions include serving as Youth Ambassador at Michael Feinstein’s Great American Songbook Academy and being a Grand Prize Finalist in the Music Center Spotlight Program, and she continues to develop original work inspired by soul, jazz, and classic rock. Louis is a versatile Los Angeles guitarist whose live and studio work spans jazz, R&B, pop, and indie, supported by a background in audio engineering. Admission is free for everyone. The music will be presented outdoors on the park lawn with chairs provided. Parking is limited in the lot, with additional street parking available. LA Revolt is the intermediate squad, competing locally and traveling for bouts and tournaments around the Western region. The Travel Team is the advanced JRDA charter roster that plays sanctioned games in the female and open divisions locally and regionally. Bring black and white numbered scrimmage shirts, skates, a helmet, knee and elbow pads, wrist guards, a mouth guard, water, a yoga mat, a towel, sneakers, and a snack. Attendees should be comfortable with basic ECD figures and familiar with the program dances. Each dance will have a brief walk through and prompting, except those labeled FTWK, and there will be no instruction during the ball.
