    Fullerton Ghost Walk

Hopscotch Tavern, 135 E Commonwealth Ave, Fullerton · verified Aug 2
    See details

Discover the historic and haunted side of downtown Fullerton on a 90 minute guided walk that weaves local lore with the city’s early growth. The tale begins in the late Victorian period, when the gold rush and the railroad drew industrious settlers who built businesses, restaurants, and theaters. Prosperity followed north of Anaheim, and the community took the name of George Fullerton. Some stories say those founders left more than commerce behind. This seventh tour from Haunted Orange County shares accounts of spectral performers in elegant theaters and phantoms said to linger in favorite dining spots while the route winds through city blocks and hidden alleys. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended, along with a fascination for the macabre as the evening explores the darker chapters of this lively college town.

    King Kong

Maverick Theater, 110 E Walnut Ave, Fullerton · verified Jul 31
    See details

The Maverick Theater and Staged Cinema Productions bring back a playful, original stage reimagining of the 1933 classic King Kong. Guided by writer and director Brian Newell, known for Maverick favorites like Night of the Living Dead, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, and Plan 9 From Outer Space, this version salutes the film that helped redefine screen spectacle while turning its tale into a clever, lighthearted adventure for the stage. Drawing inspiration from Willis O’Brien’s pioneering stop-motion artistry, the effects team, Maverick Light & Magic, pairs a backstage film crew with miniature sets to capture live footage of Kong, then blends it in real time with green screen performances. The composite is projected across a wide rear screen, surrounding the cast with a living cinematic backdrop. The world of Skull Island and New York City unfolds in front of the audience as theater and live filmmaking meet in one production. General admission is $35, with a $20 student price for those with a current ID.

    The Kellogg House Ghost Tour

Heritage Museum of Orange County, 3001 W Harvard St, Santa Ana · verified Aug 7
    See details

Built in 1898 by Hiram Clay Kellogg, this Orange County residence is among the earliest Neoclassical Victorian homes in the area. After the death of his first wife, he created a grand mansion as a gift for his second wife, Helen, and incorporated his love of tall ships into the design. A notable feature is a three story spiral staircase that wraps around a central mast and is topped by a bottomless crow's nest. Hiram died in 1921, and Helen lived on in the house for another 42 years before passing away there. Today, reports of unexplained activity suggest the Kellogg family may still linger in this uniquely designed mansion, adding a mysterious layer to its enduring history.
