    Hadestown Teen Edition

Roseville Theatre Arts Academy, 241 Vernon St, Roseville · verified Jul 31
    See details

A Masters Production of Hadestown Teen Edition brings Anaïs Mitchell’s musical to the stage in a full-length version tailored for teen performers and created with family audiences in mind. Directed by Colton Archey with musical direction by Jennifer Vaughn and choreography by Sami Axelson, the production showcases young artists in a story that balances hope and resolve. The folk opera follows two intertwined romances, those of Orpheus and Eurydice as well as King Hades and Lady Persephone. The tale leads the audience to the underworld and back. A sung-through score shaped by classic American folk influences and the sounds of vintage New Orleans jazz underscores themes such as industry versus nature, doubt versus faith, and fear versus love. The Teen Edition is licensed solely to school and youth groups with performers 19 years old and younger. Multiple performances are planned, including evening shows and afternoon matinees, with one performance offered with ASL interpretation.
