This outdoor group dog training class uses force-free, reward-based methods that focus on building a strong partnership between handlers and their dogs. All experience levels are welcome, and the curriculum adjusts each week based on the teams that attend. Sessions cover core behaviors such as sit, down, stay, stand, reliable recall, and watch me, along with polite greetings, sitting calmly for petting, loose-leash walking, focus around distractions, impulse control, and preparation for the Canine Good Citizen evaluation. Puppies younger than one year may test for the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy title after completing six classes, which is a helpful first step toward the CGC program. The series is offered weekly and the cost is $350 for six classes. Instruction is led by Aaron Wood with Aaron’s Pawsitive Coaching. Dogs must remain on leash at all times. Dogs in heat are not permitted. Harsh corrections, e-collars, prong collars, shock collars, and retractable leashes are not allowed. Please give other dogs and handlers plenty of space, and plan for one adult handler per dog. Bring vaccination records with identification, high-value treats, a standard 6-foot leash, a 15 to 20 foot long line for distance practice, water for both you and your dog, potty bags, and an optional chair. All sessions take place outdoors, so dress for the weather and plan for a positive, enjoyable training experience. A waiver applies that releases Aaron’s Pawsitive Coaching, event organizers, and the City of Rocklin or Roseville from liability, and attendance constitutes consent to photography or filming for promotional use.
