They set a clear guideline for themselves... stick to the tools they use in concert so every sound can be recreated on stage, channeling the spark of their live performance. In the months leading up to recording they wrote, spent time with family in Colorado, and road tested fresh songs while opening for The Wood Brothers and Gregory Alan Isakov, letting the material shift night to night in front of large audiences. The result is a set shaped by risk, problem solving, and the kind of invention that comes from doing more with less, with late night reflections on unseen forces and ideas that can feel imagined until something answers back.

    Mobile Farmers Market

1500 Del Paso Blvd, Sacramento · verified Oct 4
    See details

Fresh, locally grown produce arrives in North Sacramento with the Mobile Farmers Market, a traveling marketplace that connects residents with small and beginning farms. The effort is sponsored by Councilmember Roger Dickinson in partnership with the Center for Land-Based Learning and Sierra Service Project. Mobile Farmers Market trucks deliver fresh, sustainably grown fruits and vegetables to neighborhoods facing food insecurity, making healthy options more convenient and affordable. SNAP/EBT is accepted, and shoppers using those benefits can receive a 50 percent discount through Market Match. Farmers are paid fair prices, culturally relevant crops are prioritized to reflect the diversity of the community, and promotional materials are available in Russian, Farsi, and Spanish. Sixty percent of the produce is grown within 25 miles and all items come from within 100 miles, helping strengthen an equitable and resilient regional food system. A 2023 report from the Yolo Food Bank found that nearly one in three Yolo County residents faces food insecurity, and this model is designed to help address that need by bringing the market directly to the community.

A performance T-shirt is included for early registrants, and there will be a semi-annual sale during the event. All other flights are $40 for the first event and $25 for each additional event. Medals are awarded to first place, second place, and consolation winners in every flight. Junior Flights are offered in U11 and U15. Players must meet the age requirement for the division they enter. Birdies are provided for A Flights and Junior Flights, using Falcon Gold. All participants must sign a waiver before competing, and players under 18 need a parent or guardian signature. Late entries are not guaranteed a spot. Matches use rally scoring with best two out of three games to 15 points, win by two, capped at 21. Consolation matches, including finals, are a single game to 15, win by two, capped at 21. When the leading score reaches 8 points, players may take a 1-minute interval. There is a 2-minute break between games, and in a third game players change ends when the leading score hits 8. Players may not skip a flight level to enter a higher one, and winners of any E Flight event cannot compete in E Flight again. Multiple partners are permitted. Women may enter men’s flights, but men may not enter women’s flights, and a mixed-gender pair cannot enter a regular men’s or women’s doubles flight together. The Tournament Committee may move players or teams to a different flight if needed for fair play, and will attempt to reach out if changes are necessary. Entries may be moved or removed if there is no response, and disqualification is possible if a player or team is found competing below the appropriate level. 5Rhythms Sacramento Sunday

CLARA Auditorium, Sacramento · verified Oct 9
    See details

At The Auditorium at CLARA in Sacramento, this 5Rhythms gathering offers a dedicated space to move, breathe, and reset. Participants dance to a varied soundtrack on a classic wood floor, connecting with a welcoming community while letting stress melt away. Developed by Gabrielle Roth, 5Rhythms is both a creative philosophy and a dynamic movement practice followed around the world. It is grounded in the idea that putting the body in motion can foster healing, turning experience into art and awareness into purposeful action. Wherever it is practiced, a supportive community tends to form that dances, sweats, grows, and provides a safe container to loosen the grip of ego and awaken a bold, expressive self. Sessions usually include two waves, with music available for personal warm up and a closing circle to complete the experience. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in, and know that barefoot dancing is encouraged. Classes are led by Certified 5Rhythms Teachers Majica Alba or Bella Dreizler, with occasional visiting instructors. Parking is available in the lot and on nearby streets. Pricing options include a single class drop in for $25, a 10 class card for $225, and a first time three class pass for $50. Payment at the door is accepted via cash, Venmo, or PayPal.

    Cold Starts

Chloé Cà Phê + Roastery, 2521 Jazz Alley, Sacramento
    See details

In a tucked-away Midtown Sacramento alley, this intentionally small car gathering keeps things calm and conversation forward. Expect about 20 to 30 thoughtfully built cars, plenty of shop talk, and a community of hands-on enthusiasts who value the journey as much as the machine. Families are welcome and egos are checked, with a focus on good vibes and real connection. Born from a quiet pilot that has taken root over the past year, it stays low-key by design rather than chasing attention. The alley setting keeps speeds in check, and a nearby parking deck means it continues rain or shine. Coffee from the roastery pairs with easy conversation, and the farmers market is a short walk away without the usual parking hassle. Respect for the venue is essential, as it is private property.
