This family storytime features read-alouds, sing-alongs, and playful activities for young children. All families are welcome, and the program is especially suited for ages 1 to 5.

Tango On Broadway hosts beginning and intermediate Argentine tango classes at Mission Oaks Community Center, with a practice session following the lessons. Classes run weekly, except when the community center is closed for public holidays. Thanks to a standing offer from Mission Oaks Community Center, the first class is free. After that, pricing options include $10 for the whole night or $30 for the month. New dancers can try the basics, and experienced dancers can use the beginning class to learn the opposite role. At the California State Capitol-West Steps, this National Day of Remembrance gathering centers on reading the names of loved ones along with their date of death. Permission is requested each year before names are read, and those who want a name included are asked to email the name and date of death as they would like it read by the noted deadline. Other support groups and state agencies will be present, and arriving a little early is welcome for anyone who wishes to connect with them.

Volunteers will gather at the McDonalds in the area and travel by car from encampment to encampment to share hot meals and distribute clothing to unhoused neighbors in Sacramento. Carpooling is encouraged to help the group move efficiently between stops. The organizers welcome donations of clothing, with a particular need for men’s items and warm layers as temperatures cool, along with food and cases of water. A small team will provide prepared food on site and requests additional support from those able to contribute supplies. RSVP is requested by the organizers. This effort centers on dignity, compassion, and practical support for people who have been displaced and may not have a network to rely on, with the goal of leaving everyone met feeling a little more cared for.
