    DROC Ride to Idyllwil

Starbucks , 30867 Gateway Pl, Ladera Ranch · verified Aug 28
    Free

Spend a full day on a scenic motorcycle loop to Idyllwild. The ride departs from Starbucks in Sendero Marketplace, then follows Ortega Highway around Lake Elsinore, continues on CA-371 through Anza for a stop at the Paradise Valley Cafe, and climbs CA-243 into the pines for lunch in Idyllwild. The return heads down CA-74 to Hemet, passes Lake Mathews, and wraps up at a Shell station in Tustin. Plan for approximately 188 miles over a full day in the saddle. A fuel range of about 120 miles between fill-ups is ideal, and topping off at every gas stop is encouraged. Bring layers for cool mountain air and warmer valley temperatures, plus water and sunscreen. Expect long stretches of highway and mountain canyon riding, and ride within your limits. A safety meeting is required before departure, and riders are expected to follow the guidance shared. No passing on the right. Ride your own ride and do not push beyond your comfort zone. A sweeper stays with the group and there will be regroup stops at important points. Recommended gear includes a proper riding jacket, pants, gloves, and boots, with leathers suggested. Resources with tips for group riding and common hand signals are available to review. Selecting Ticket simply opens the RSVP to confirm participation at no cost. Participants assume all risks, and an in case of emergency contact should be set up on your phone or placed on your bike.
