Her approach is shaped by teachers and communities including Ty Landrum, Sara Baird, Erin Dudley, Keith Borden, Cindi Lee’s Om Yoga Center, Laughing Lotus Yoga, and by the anatomical perspectives of Irene Dowd and Leslie Kaminoff, as well as influences like Krishnamurti, Ram Das, Kundalini yoga, Gaga, and Gyrotonic. She describes movement as her native language and finds inspiration in the sky, sunlight, nighttime, trees, animals, and poetry, taking comfort in human resilience and the kindness of friends while embracing an ever-evolving journey toward a felt sense of flow.

The class also dives into technique, including a clear and comfortable frame that uses balanced tension and compression rather than muscle, ribcage and shoulder isolations for Latin styling, and a grounded yet responsive arm connection so leads are communicated cleanly. This experiential childbirth education workshop is for couples and their support person, designed to help you learn and refresh how to move through the “dance” of labor and birth together. You’ll cover staying connected as labor progresses, breathwork, acupressure and massage, yoga and optimal fetal positioning, natural coping techniques for all three stages of labor, emotional responses to pain, comfort measures to help labor progress, and hands-on positions for labor and birth. The day is hosted in a peaceful yoga studio setting with the perspective of a seasoned doula, prenatal massage therapist, and yoga teacher. Hall Pass returns to the Creek Park Stage for San Anselmo Live! with a free outdoor performance in a shady grassy amphitheater. Streets will be closed and food and drink options are all around, creating a setting for relaxing on a blanket or in chairs, or for heading to the dance floor. The band will play a pair of sets.

An open mic at The Magic Flute welcomes musicians and singers of all ages and experience levels on the second Saturday of each month. The event is free. KC Turner presents a matinee performance by The Rubinoos at the HopMonk Novato Session Room. This show is partially seated and open to all ages. Friends since junior high, Jon Rubin and Tommy Dunbar began performing together as teenagers in Berkeley and soon signed with Beserkley Records alongside Jonathan Richman and Greg Kihn. Their self-titled 1977 debut brought them national attention, with critic Gene Sculatti hailing it as the best pop album of the decade. Over time the band has released numerous records while collaborating with Todd Rundgren, Kevin Gilbert, and most recently Chuck Prophet. They have built an international following, sharing stages with Elvis Costello and Tom Petty. Their music has appeared in films and television, they made their TV debut on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand, performed the title theme for Revenge of the Nerds, and their Top 40 single I Think We’re Alone Now opened the third season of the Netflix comedy Sex Education. Now signed to Yep Roc Records, home to artists such as Nick Lowe, Dave Alvin, and Chuck Prophet, the group continues to bring power pop to audiences across the United States, Europe, and Japan.
