    Movie Screeners Club

Gardena · Gardena Cinema, 14948 Crenshaw Blvd

A monthly short film festival at Gardena Cinema spotlights new shorts, invites the audience to vote for their top three selections, and crowns an Audience Award winner at the end of the night. Filmmakers take the stage after the screening for a Q&A that explores how their projects were made and what inspires their work, followed by a lobby mixer designed for conversation, collaboration, and swapping production details. Each month’s Audience Award winner is featured on the Movie Screeners Club Podcast for an in-depth discussion about short filmmaking, and monthly champions advance to a year-end competition for the Short Film Champion of the Year title and a $500 prize. This is an indoor screening and a ticket is required for every attendee. Entry to the auditorium opens up to 60 minutes before showtime. Free parking is available in the lot on the north side of the cinema. Outside food and drinks are not permitted, with popcorn and other refreshments sold at the snack bar. Restrooms are open, and pets are not allowed inside the cinema. The series takes place on the third Thursday of each month.

Holy Fire® 3 Karuna Reiki® Master Training with Jules Davis

Redondo Beach · Auralux - Reiki and Crystal Healing, 1603 Aviation Blvd

Advance your Reiki path with a three day Holy Fire® III Karuna Reiki® Master training led by Julianna “Jules” Davis. The training is offered online or in person and is designed for practitioners who have held an Usui Reiki Master certification of any lineage for at least six months through live training with a teacher, either online or face to face. Rooted in the concept of Karuna, a Sanskrit term often translated as compassionate action, this course explores how wisdom and the understanding of our shared nature can guide effective healing for self and others. This immersive experience serves both practitioner and Master levels. You will work with eight practitioner symbols and a Master symbol, learn to integrate the Karuna symbols into client sessions, and be qualified to teach all levels of Holy Fire® III Karuna Reiki®. The training also prepares you to teach Reiki I and II and Reiki Master as Holy Fire® III classes. Expect four Ignitions, including the World Peace Ignition, along with two meditations guided by Holy Fire® consciousness. Instruction covers how to give Placements for Reiki I and II and the initial part of Reiki Master, as well as Ignitions for Reiki Master and Karuna Master. Placements and Ignitions function as attunements and are presented as a way to enhance the effectiveness of the energy and the symbols. A certificate and a comprehensive 142 page manual are provided. World Peace Karuna Reiki® energy is woven throughout the class to cultivate inner peace and empower participants to foster peace in the wider world. The Empowered by the River of Peace Experience and the World Peace Ignition are included, along with hands on practice using all nine symbols. Upon completion, you will be able to teach both levels of Karuna Reiki® in the World Peace format. There is abundant practice time for giving treatments and working with the symbols. The class also includes chanting and toning with the Karuna Reiki® symbols and opportunities to connect with Reiki Masters from across the country and beyond. A certificate, a detailed manual describing each symbol and the Ignition processes, and a one year subscription to Reiki News Magazine are included. Participants are also offered the chance to apply to become a Registered Karuna Reiki® Master with The International Center for Reiki Training. Tuition is 1375.00 with a 325.00 deposit. Jules is an Usui and Karuna Reiki® Master, ICRT Animal Reiki Master, crystal and sound healer, spiritual teacher, psychic and medium, and the owner of Auralux in Los Angeles. She is an International Center for Reiki Training Licensed Reiki Master Teacher and Mentor Teacher with 13 years of teaching experience and is among approximately 50 licensed teachers worldwide.
