This race embraces the idea that growth comes from challenge, with a demanding course and typically hot conditions. Conquering the 13.1 mile route off the beaten path brings serious bragging rights. It is also the second race in the Run the Valley Half Marathon Series. Support on the course includes eleven aid stations stocked with ice, water, sponges, sports drink, and gels, and participants are encouraged to bring their own hydration. Relay teams have shuttle transportation. DJs keep the energy high along the route, and the finish venue turns festive. The Tulare County Fire Department raises a U.S. garrison flag at the start and finish. Perks include a complimentary breakfast from Rushbowl and Rocio’s Catering, free race photos, RaceJoy tracking, and live results delivered to phones. A free Michelob Ultra beer garden adds to the celebration, along with the Michelob Ultra stage that keeps the party atmosphere going. Awards recognize the top three in each age group and relay category, overall male and female finishers, and leading relay teams across three divisions.
