Join Lindsay for the monthly First Friday Coffee Talk from 7:00 to 8:30 a.m. at Lindsay Wellness Center. This is a casual chance to bring your questions and concerns, connect with the community, and stay informed about what’s happening in the city. Free to attend.

Backpacks & Beyond is a no-cost community gathering that helps families gear up for the new school year. Attendees can pick up complimentary backpacks and school supplies while quantities last, explore helpful resources, and enjoy snacks and refreshments. There is no fee to participate, and all community members are welcome.

Help grow native plants at Dry Creek Nursery through hands-on volunteer work like propagation, plant care, potting seedlings, and general nursery maintenance. Tasks vary with seasonal needs and can be adjusted for different ages, abilities, and comfort levels, with options for both seated and active work. No experience is necessary, and staff will provide guidance, along with supplies for the day.

Free rapid and confidential screening for HIV and syphilis is offered at The Source LGBT+ Center on the first and third Friday of each month. Walk-in testing is available during these events. Individuals who complete an HIV test can receive a complimentary $50 gift card. Syphilis testing is provided in collaboration with Altura Centers for Health.

Complimentary root beer floats and free sketch books are available, while supplies last. The galleries are filled with artwork from the summer program, creating a colorful setting for creativity. Tulare Parks & Recreation will present a free family screening of Zootopia 2 at Mulcahy Park. Attendees can bring blankets and lawn chairs to relax and watch the movie together on a summer evening.

A monthly community work session in the garden brings neighbors together to tackle the tasks that keep it thriving. Lead volunteers guide activities such as weeding, planting, composting, and more. All ages are welcome and no experience is required. Participants are encouraged to bring water, invite friends and family, and lend a helping hand.

Learn the basics or build your skills in a friendly, no experience needed knitting class at the library. This free session provides materials, and participants are welcome to bring their own projects to work on and share their progress.

Stay active with a free water aerobics session tailored for seniors at Mosqueda Community Center. Gentle, low impact movements in the pool support heart health, flexibility, and muscle tone, creating a safe and enjoyable workout. For seniors’ safety, attendance is limited to 30 participants on a first come, first served basis. No registration is required. Please bring a hat, towel, sunscreen, and a water bottle.
