Main Street Community Foundation's Men & Boys' Fund marks a decade of impact with a celebration that recognizes its MVPs, Men of Value and Purpose, and the community it serves. Since launching in 2016, the Fund has awarded nearly $99,000 in program and immediate response grants, and proceeds from this event support programs that improve the lives of men and boys in Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington, and Wolcott. The program features guest speaker Steve Pikiell, Rutgers University men's basketball head coach and a Bristol native. With 35 years of coaching experience, he has led turnarounds that produced conference championships and NCAA Tournament berths. Pikiell was a two-year captain and four-year letterwinner at UConn from 1986 to 1991 and earned a finance degree. His roots include a standout career at St. Paul Catholic High School in Bristol, where his No. 21 jersey was retired and he ranks among the school's leaders in points, assists, and steals.
