Suggested supplies for colored pencil work include Prismacolor Premier colored pencils, Strathmore Bristol Vellum paper, a pencil sharpener, a Tombow Mono eraser, a colorless blender pencil, odorless mineral spirits such as Gamsol or Mona Lisa, small blending tools like an eyeliner brush, a small filbert brush or cotton swabs, a regular graphite pencil, and a white 7 mm Posca paint pen. For oil pastels, recommended choices include Mungyo Gallery, Paul Rubens, or Cray Pas along with mixed media or textured drawing paper, blending stumps or cotton swabs, and odorless mineral spirits. For soft pastels, artist grade sets such as Mungyo, Rembrandt, or NuPastels are suggested with Canson Mi-Teintes, Canson XL Sand grain, or mixed media paper, plus blending stumps or cotton swabs, baby wipes or paper towels, and a fixative like Aqua Net hairspray or an artist quality option such as Spectrafix.
